That Fabio Capello is a strong character who doesn’t take no for an answer from his players is known to all those who have played under him. Not everyone is a fan of the Italian’s hardline approach him but Liverpool striker Peter Crouch doesn’t fall in that category.
Football UK quotes the beanpole striker as saying that he is much impressed by Capello’s attitude during England’s 2-1 defeat of Switzerland on Wednesday in an international friendly. Crouch says:
He’s a manager who certainly knows what he wants. He will get his point across right from the start. His English was very good. That surprised a lot of the players, the fact he was getting his message across in English. If he had a point to make, he certainly put it across strongly. We all know where we stand. He’s got an aura about him. When he walks into a room everyone sits up and takes notice.
One thing sounds strange and that is how quickly Capello has seemingly learnt the English language. It proves that even at 61, you are not too late to learn a new language.
