The Daily Mail reports that Fernando Torres limped out of Spain’s international clash with France last night in the 22nd minute, no doubt provoking a nervous wait at Anfield until more details on his injury come through.
The Spanish coach Luis Aragones seemed to shrug off the injury, saying to the BBC:
“He has a knock that does not seem important.”
And Torres himself seems confident too, declaring:
“I will have medical tests but I intend to play against Chelsea.
“I preferred not to risk it. I demanded the change.”
Which is just as well, because if Torres isn’t fit for the vital Chelsea game it’ll be a body blow to Rafa’s team.
