Liverpool fans amass £60 million for a potential takeover

Posted by

A few days ago Liverpool fans ventured on a long and tough voyage to takeover the club from the American duo George Gillett and Tom Hicks whom they perceive as essentially evil in the wake of the Rafael Benitez sacking fiasco. ESPN STAR Sports now reports that the Reds are inching closer to the amount needed to buy the majority shares of the club.

£500million is needed for Share Liverpool FC to takeover the running of the club from the two American business tycoons and so far they have garnered £60 million. Of course the amount collected so far is peanuts compared to the amount that is still left to unearth but the fact that it’s been just 4 days in which Liverpool fans from across the world, especially in the UK, Norway, Ireland and the USA, have pledged the amount bleeds in rays of optimism.

Could the Liverpool fans buy the club from Gillett and Hicks? Would the worldwide Kop construct history?
