UEFA supremo blasts Premier League proposals

Posted by

UEFA president Michel Platini has dismissed the English Premier League’s plans to stage an “international round” of Premiership matches on foreign soil once every season from 2010/11 with ruthless mockery.

Platini says:

It’s a strange and comical idea. I was laughing. I laughed because it will never be received by Fifa, by the fans and by the national associations. It’s a nonsense idea. Soon you will have in England no English presidents, you already have no English coach, you have no English players and maybe now you will have no clubs playing in England. It’s a joke.

Platini has never quite been a fan of the way the Premiership runs and the Platini-bashers must be sharpening their knives now.
