Yesterday’s 1-0 win for Everton over Reading at Goodison Park was so boring that I am having to shovel down huge amounts of coffee just to stay awake while writing this! Both Everton -chasing a Champions League spot – and Reading – struggling to get out of the relegation mire – had ample reason to approach this game with effervescent vigor.
In spite of this, the game was a truly forgettable one, and it’s claims as the worst game of the season were strengthened in the first half when the TV cameras caught famous football obsessive and commentator John Motson, sitting off duty in the stands, having a snooze!
So the question we want answered is was yesterday’s Everton-Reading game the worst of the season in the Premier League. Phil Jagielka’s goal and James Vaughan’s overhead kick effort were pretty much the only redeeming factors in this snoozefest, but have you seen worse?
