Gabby just about comes out on top without the ball, but Aaron (Azzasy to his mates) dominates the dribbling portion and wins overall.
Their technique is also interesting. Aaron stays low and leans into the corners while Agbonlahor (Aggasy to his mates) stays up right and is understandably less nippy from an agility standpoint. And as you can see by the mud kicking up, it had been a wet day at the pitch when they took the test which slowed both players down from what’s probably their optimum time. Also, it does look a little like Gabby slows down at the end which may have cost him.
The full video of both races is below, and Nike’s Speed Test will soon be making the rounds to an area near you so you can compare yourself against football’s fastest players. There’s even a chance to win a trip to Old Trafford to engage in speed training. You can find out the full details at whoisthefastest.com.
