Portsmouth goalkeeper David James is basking in glory these days. Several England fans believe that the former West Ham United custodian is the best goalkeeper that England have at the moment and his club manager Harry Redknapp is heaping praises on him. And Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson too doesn’t feel shy to have his say on James’ brilliant run of form.
Bolton were denied a victory by Portsmouth at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday on the English Premier League by James’ heroics in front of goal and Megson admits that he is impressed by that. Megson says:
I think you can explain it in two words, David James. I have not seen us play any better. I have certainly not seen us create as many chances. We looked solid throughout before they scored. I would swap with Harry Redknapp obviously, but here I think the only reason we have not won the game is down to one of the best goalkeeping performances that I have seen.
So is it now time to drop David James’s middle name, ie Calamity?
