When John Terry broke his foot against Arsenal in December, many were forecasting that Chelsea would struggle to last the pace in his absence. However, the Blues have done well without the likes of their captain, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba. What’s more, Sky Sports are reporting that ‘JT’ is hopeful of returning against Huddersfield in the cup this weekend.
He said: “I did a full training session with the reserves today and two light ones the two previous days with the first team.
“I joined in a little bit with the reserves and no reaction so far so I’m very pleased.
“Fitness-wise I’m probably a week to 10 days away. If I can get a good week’s training under my belt maybe the weekend is a small possibility I think.”
This could be a welcome boost to Chelsea, who will now seemingly have their main defender back for the Carling Cup final against Tottenham as well as the Champions League knockout stages. Will he walk straight back into the team at the expense of Alex or Carvalho?
