Was there anything positive to take for Liverpool after their 0-0 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the English Premier League on Sunday? The Reds did gain 1 point but anything more than that? No?
Well, maybe yes. That according to Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard. The England international believes that Liverpool can now fight for the fourth spot in the Premiership. He argues:
There are definitely a lot of positives to take out of this (Chelsea) game. It was definitely a big improvement on how we’ve played of late. We realise now that we’re facing a big challenge to finish in the top four and we’ve got to forget about the title and focus on fighting for fourth place. There are a lot of teams around us who are in good form and playing well so it’s important that we don’t let our standards drop.
Guess he is talking about motivation. Well,Gerrard himself surely doesn’t need any inspiration to sear his love-club into the top four but what about his team mates?
