Paul Robinson hasn’t featured for Tottenham since his poor display during the 2-2 FA Cup draw with Reading on 5th January, which appeared to be the straw that broke the camel’s back as far as manager Juande Ramos was concerned. The former Leeds and England goalkeeper has had a miserable few months after being dropped by club and country. Now, Eurosport have published an interview with Spurs striker, erm, “Lukas” Pekhart which lifts the lid on Robinson’s hissy-fit when he found out he was being dropped for a match against Arsenal in the Carling Cup.
Q. Paul Robinson, when sitting on the bench and watching the game, gives the impression of being a very angry man. It is like he does not care about the result. Is it just a fantasy or is it true?
A. Most recently it has been true. When the coach put him on the bench for the first time, against Arsenal, he did not even go to the warm-up which made the coach even more angry.
Many thought Rakek Cerny would only feature in the first team for a limited number of games, although it’s now clear that he’s first choice until the end of the season. It appears extremely unlikely that Robinson will play for Spurs again – where the child go in the summer?
