Manchester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has brushed away all speculation linking the sell-out of his star defender and captain Richard Dunne. Earlier this week, it was reported that Dunne was wanted by both Newcastle United and Celtic but the Swede says that Dunne is on the verge of signing a new contract.
Eriksson says:
It is still in the pipeline and I am sure he will sign a new contract.
That settles the issue, I guess. And it is indeed ridiculous that Dunne would leave UEFA Cup chasing Man City for Newcastle in the summer.
