Liverpool’s Spanish Matador returns to training

Liverpool are boosted by the fact that their Spanish matador, a certain Fernando Torres, is back training with the first team after a short injury layoff. The 23-year old star was injured while on international duty but his return to full fitness has gleamed a ray of hope for the Premiership club’s UEFA Champions League, last 16 first leg match against the mighty Inter Milan at the San Siro on February 16.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez says:

For Inter, Torres will be okay. We will have to check before Barnsley need to consider both games but I know it’s important to progress in the FA Cup, so I will try to use a strong team. Sami Hyypia is improving. He did the warm up and could be available, but we will have to analyse the situation. Torres also did the warm up, as well as Fabio Aurelio and Alvaro Arbeloa, and they are really close. Now it is about whether we will take the risk or not.

Liverpool have to take a risk on Torres if they want to keep alive their Champions League hope. Without Torres, Liverpool would be without their cutting edge and that could just hand the advantage to Inter.
