Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has denied that the club has opened contract negotiations with star midfielder Cesc Febregas. On Friday, the 20-year old Spanish international said that he was looking forward to renewing his contract with the London club but now Wenger says that all Cesc was doing was reiterating his commitment to the Gunners.
Wenger says:
At the moment there are no talks. What he wanted to say is that he is committed to the future here. He was interviewed by Spanish radio and that’s all he wanted to say.
Anyway, it doesn’t affect anyone too much. The Spanish matador has a whooping 6 years left on his current contract and 6 years is a long time in football.
