Liverpool manager ‘I’m no flop’
by stresster on February 17th, 2008The People report that Rafael Benitez is well and truly fighting his corner, following criticism that he’s fast becoming a failure at Anfield. The Liverpool manager presided over arguably his most humiliating day in charge of the club on Saturday, when the Reds were beaten 2-1 at home to Barnsley.
“If you analyse the last few years since I came to the club we have won four trophies and been in seven finals, including two in the Champions League.
“How many other managers have done the same in their first three or four years at a club? People can talk about being successful but nobody is winning trophies every year.
“To do that is really difficult so I think we are in a really good position with a very young squad, so I have a lot of confidence in the team for the future.”
The question remains whether Rafa will have the opportunity to turn things around at Anfield in the future. He’s enduring his toughest season as manager of Liverpool and won’t be able to reflect on former glories forever.

rAFA IS NOT A FLOP……… HE IS A DISASTER. I CANNOT UNDERSTNAD WHY THE AMERICAN OWNERS DO NOT SACK HIM ESPECIALLY WHERE THEIR POLICY IS HIRE AND FIRE. rAFA FAILED IN HIS FOUIR YEAR TERM. UNDER HIS GIUDANCE WE NEVER CHALLANGES FOR THE LEAGUE, WE LOST TO BURNLEY AND NOW BARNSLEY IN THE FA CUP AND NEVER WON THE LEAGUE CUP. HE BOUGHT A LOAD OF RUBBISH SUCH AS KUYT, ITANGE VOIRONIN, AURELIO. THESE APART THE FLOPS THAT DEPARTED.
YESTERDAYS SUBSTITUTIONS WERE ASATONISHING. HE REPLACED BABEL WHO WAS ONE OF THE BEST PLAYERS ON THE FIELD WITH KEWELL, LEFT OUR TORRES TO PLAY KUYT. ALL LEAD TO THE DEFEAT.NEXT WEEK IT IS INTER. IF WE DO NOT GET THROUGH OR EVEN WIN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE IT IS TIME FOR HIM TO GO. YES RAFA YOU ARE A DISASTER

i dont deny Rafa has brought success to the club in recent years but only in Europe… its not half as bad but lets face it… we want the league… its been 18 years and still waiting…. are we going to let man united take over our reputation as the most successful club in england… Rafa doesnt have it to get it for us.. his rotation system is flawed and he cant even admit it.. steve mcmahon was right all along to criticize Rafa… i have lost faith in Rafa and so have a bulk of TRUE liverpool fans

rafa is a good coach no doubt but he really needs to get his act together. i think he’s too soft on the players, he needs to toughen up
Vicknesh Thevendran - February 17th, 2008 at 3:12 pm
dont agree with the fact that he is too soft…. he is just too stuck up to face the fact that he is wrong with his methods….. quite frankly its rather pathetic… i’ve been a red fan all my life and i hate to admit it but we have no chance under rafa… arent you all sick and tired of feeling insecured every time they play.. chelsea, united and especially arsenal play a system…. Rafa’s system is that he doesnt have one…… his downfall was when Pako left…. he has just been unrecognizable since then…. he is a flop when it comes to the league…. i miss dalglish……

Liverpool are in state at the moment, yes rafa’s won trophies but i think i speak on behalf of all liverpool fans when i say we want, no we NEED the premiere league, to officialy be recognised as the best team in the country is something all red fans dream about. But nobody can deny rafa is world class, the CL in his first season!!!! come on, people who deny rafas ability simply have a crude understanding of the game, genuinely succsesful managers are far and few but rafa is definatly one of them. And as far as this season goes its obvious that to many draws have become our downfall agger bieng out for the most of the season hasent helped and hyypia who is now 34 is getting every game week in and out - basically we have a CB problem and need fast wingers who can distribute the ball. Enyway we owe rafa 1 more season even if we complete this campaign trophyles.

Arsene Wenger has won nothing for three and a half years…..

Ever since the last season of EPL, the rotation of players have affected the players such that most of the time, half the players don’t seemed to be in sync with each other in most matches (which explains why there’s so many draws). It’s evident from the huge number of bad passes made, bad crosses and sub-standard corners (except Stevie) taken. As a result the forwards are not able to get themselves in good position to take a hard solid shot at goal. The results of matches this season isn’t EPL quality stuff . I’m sure most fans would agree that the football which the team has been playing is boring stuff and is good reason enough to have a new change of manager. I positive that the new owners - DIC will take due note and do just that. Hooray!!!!

i like rafa but it is time 4 him 2 go we cant just keep looking back to our past or keep hoping to wi/n the league in ther future he must keep thinking about the present time and 4 a second season running we have flopped heavily getting beaten by barnsley nd getting knocked out of the champions league by chelsea i think its time for rafa to leave and look towards the future somewhere else coz he cant cut it as liverpool manager as far as he is concerned his main priority is the champions league and us scouser really want the premeier title so bye rafa
