Martin O’ Neill for Liverpool, I hope not. He might just do a good job and God help the opposition if he had money to spend. As regards Spurs, the last thing they need to do is to buy loads of new player. Three at most. Left wing, centre-half and maybe centre of the park. Huddlestone has been a revelation in the last few weeks and I predict a ” big ” future for him. England need ballplayers not headless chickens like Lamps and Gerrard. Good but limited. They thrive in the Premiership, where most teams are mediocre.

Has anyone calculated the % of transfer rumours that are true? They have as much validity and politicians’ promises.
