Negative Brann boss prays for ‘miracle’ against Everton

February 20, 2008

The Liverpool Echo brings us news that Thursday’s UEFA Cup encounter between Everton and Norwegian side SK Brann is being viewed as Mission Impossible by the Scandinavian outfit. Everton come into the Goodison tie two away goals to the good and Brann boss Mons Ivar Mjelde whimpered:

“We need a miracle of a lifetime, to believe in qualifying is pointless.

“We’ll start at 0-0 and try to get the best possible result.

“If we start with the hope that we can make it, it might end very badly.

“You don’t learn a lot by losing 5-0 at Goodison Park. The goal is to play well there.”

Are the chances of Brann winning at Goodison really that slim?
