Rock bottom Premiership minnows Derby County have nothing to play for until the end of the season as the entire unit has virtually resigned itself to the drop to the Championship yet the Rams are not ready to make it easy for the other relegation candidates. It is reported that Derby midfielder Robbie Savage shall play against Wigan Athletic in a Premiership relegation six-pointer at the weekend despite still recovering from a bruised foot.
Savage is the captain of the Pride Park side and is ready to play for pride until the end of the season. The match against Wigan will also mark the return of Derby manager Paul Jewell to the club whom he saved from relegation last season and the reception would be mostly one of respect and gratitude.
Yet should Derby win only their second game in the top flight this season and manage their first away win of the season at the JJB Stadium, then the Wigan fans would quickly forget that Jewell was once their Messiah and turn against him.
