Sky Sports reports that Arsenal’s vital central defender Kolo Toure would be out for only two weeks instead of four weeks as was reported yesterday. The 26-year old Ivory Coast international was forced to limp off the Emirates pitch on Wednesday after just 7 minutes of the UEFA Champions League tie against AC Milan and was earlier reported to be miss football for 4 weeks.
But now the news is a little better. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that Toure will be back after 2 weeks:
The news is maybe a bit better. For me on Wednesday night it looked like he would be out for two to four weeks. The way he was walking perhaps four. But today the medical staff said to me it would be closer to two than four.
The Gunners fans would certainly be hoping that the medical staff is spot on about their assessment of Kolo Toure’s injury. In two weeks’ time, Arsenal travel to the San Siro to play mighty AC Milan in the second leg of the last 16 tie and Toure’s experience and class at the heart of the Arsenal defence would certainly be helpful.
