Despite a reported refusal to take part in the warm-up after being dropped last month, the Daily Mirror report that Juande Ramos was delighted with Paul Robinson’s performance against Slavia Prague on Thursday, ensuring his team progressed into the last sixteen of the competition. The Tottenham manager saw the Czech team fight their way back into the tie during the second half and was thankful his reinstated goalkeeper was in top form.
Ramos said: “He did a great job and completed his task perfectly. He has had a lot of time without playing but I thought his performance was magnificent and he has helped his team get through to the next round.”
A case of ‘come back Paul, all is forgiven, especially as that Radek bloke is worse than you!’. Is this the start of a Robinson renaissance which will see him remain at White Hart Lane for many seasons to come or is his Spanish manager just trying to make the best of things before the end of the season?
