Spurs promise to help fallen legend

One more sympathiser and supporter for fallen England star Paul Gascoigne. Premiership club Tottenham Hotspur have pledged to help the former England, Spurs and Newcastle striker and his family after Gazza was sectioned under the Mental Health Act after he was arrested and detained on Wednesday following claims he acted as a ‘potential menace’ at a hotel in Gateshead.

Chairman of the Tottenham Tribute Trust, Jonathan Adelman, says:

Paul holds a special place in the history of Tottenham Hotspur and it is our clear priority to look to support him and his family at this difficult time.

He was a great player, not only for Spurs but also his country, and our organisation was set up by the club for the express purpose of providing help at such times.

It is everyone’s wish to see Paul well and healthy again. It will be important to determine the best form that this should take.

Yesterday Newcastle also vowed to help Gazza recover himself and now Spurs have decided to join hands on the deck. May God also help Gazza. Amen.
