It’s been a long running saga, but according to today’s news it’s pretty much a done deal! Apparently Arsenal are fearful that midfield general Mathieu Flamini has agreed to join Juvenus in the summer (The Independent).
If this is indeed true then it will be a big blow to the club. Flamini has been one of the most consistent performers for the Gunners this season and if he was to leave then Gilberto may get his spot back.
But in theory Arsene Wenger may indeed have to go out and get new blood to fill the void should the Frenchman join Claudio Ranieri’s Serie A side.
Marseille were, of course, treated in a similar manner by 23-year-old Flamini, who also ran out his contract at the Stade Velodrome before joining the Gunners.
Arsenal fans will hope that the report is mere paper speculation, but only time will tell if he is indeed going to scarper to Turin for nothing.
