The Daily Mail quotes Tottenham Hotspur assistant manager Gus Poyet as admitting that the club would bid for the Espanyol Barcelona duo of Carlos Kameni and Daniel Jarque.
While Kameni is rated as one of the best goalkeepers in La Liga, Jarque holds the reputation of being a strong centre-back who doesn’t mind sticking his boots in. The duo were potential Spurs target in January too but no concrete offers were put on the table.
Poyet is quoted as saying:
Kameni and Jarque are very interesting players, and any player who is interesting is welcome at a club such as Tottenham.
Both of them are on our director of football’s wanted list, and the club is following them with a view to strengthening our team.
We haven’t yet taken a definite decision to bring them in. But we will try to do a deal for them in the future.
Espanyol, watch out: Spurs are out to get your prized asset and leading that charge is one Juande Ramos.
