Wigan Athletic manager Steve Bruce moans at his side’s draw with Manchester City in the English Premiership on Saturday. Bruce is convinced that his side deserved all three points against the Manchester Blues and says:
I thought the longer it went on there was only going to be one winner. The unfortunate thing for us was we missed the chances when they came because I think overall we should have taken it. But it was not a classic. It is never easy [kicking off] at quarter past five. It was very difficult for us with the results (of their relegation rivals) going against us.
Wigan are 14th in the table, just 2 points above safety. Somehow they have as much to blame themselves as their luck this season for forcing themselves into the relegation mess.
