Arsenal’s Champions League last-16 tie with reigning European champions AC Milan is delicately poised at 0-0 after the first leg at the Emirates ended in a stalemate. The second leg is on Tuesday night at the legendary San Siro stadium and the Gunners might just have to struggle.
Not least because their star central defender Kolo Toure is out of the match with a calf injury that he picked up in the first leg played a fortnight ago. The Ivory Coast international has since missed the last two league matches for Arsenal and is out for Tuesday’s vital clash against the Rossoneri.
But Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger does have some reason to smile. Dutch international striker Robin van Persie is back for the match and might even be played from the start. He is certainly a good card to play later on in the match.
Arsenal go into the match as potential underdogs and they need to score an early goal to rattle the Milan unit. Should they score an away goal, Milan would have to score twice to go through.
