AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has praised Arsenal in high terms after the Gunners pulled off an unlikely 2-0 victory at the San Siro on Tuesday night in the UEFA Champions League to progress to the last 8 of the competition.
Ancelotti says that Arsenal deserved to go through:
Arsenal are a strong team and played with great courage.
They managed the ball better, put a lot of pressure on our midfield and did not allow us to play as we wanted.
I think Arsenal have shown they have the qualities to reach the final of the Champions League.
Arsenal were truly deserved winners against the Italian giants and might as well win the Champions League this season along with the Premiership. As for AC Milan, well, they need to pull themselves together and consolidate their fourth position in the Italian Serie A table and feature in the competition next season. Whether they would have Ancelotti at their helm then is a matter of some speculation of course.
