Reason for Newcastle’s poor form: transfer window

Posted by

Newcastle United manager Kevin Keegan doesn’t exactly blame the policy of the transfer window for his side’s swift slide down the table and towards the murky waters of the relegation zone but he does make a rumble .

KK says:

The biggest change from that situation to this was that I could buy players then. If I thought there was a problem somewhere, I could do something and improve the squad.

This time, we have got what we’ve got, and it’s slightly different in that respect.

Hm….. Seems like Keegan is trying to hide behind an excuse and this is indeed a very lame excuse. After all, if the other 19 managers in the Premiership can follow it, then why can’t Kevin Keegan? Wasn’t the policy applicable when he was in charge of Manchester City not so long ago?
