David Bentley might be contracted to Blackburn Rovers until the summer of 2011 but the club now wants him to sign a new contract.
Blackburn chairman John Williams says:
David signed a new contract a year ago but needs a new one now.
You have to accept that sometimes. I would hope we could keep a player like David Bentley happy at Blackburn.
No wonder why Blackburn are so keen on a new contract with DB. The 23-year old has been in tremendous form this season and is even being considered as a long term replacement for David Beckham in the England national team. Now wouldn’t modest Blackburn like to have a player like that!
