Fabio Rochemback might be one of the very few gems in this increasingly struggling Middlesbrough team but he is in the dark about his future at the Riverside.
The midfielder’s current contract at the club runs out in the summer and although the club has a two year option, manager Gareth Southgate is yet to make any noise on that.
For Sporting or any club, I finish my current deal with Boro this June and I don’t know my future.
My objective now is to finish the season in the best possible manner.
I have a lot of love for Sporting and Portugal, it is a country where I am always very happy.
I am professional and open to any propositions and if an offer arrives from Portugal, I will study it.
But I am happy at Middlesbrough so we will see what happens.
Maybe Boro should try and keep him at the Riverside. After all the midfielder has been one of the best performers for the club this season and deserved to be given some respect and a new contract.
