Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has one more person (indirectly) supporting his rotation policy. Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has hailed the rotation policy that his manager Sir Alex Ferguson has followed from the start of this season.
Rooney says Sir Alex’s policy is actually a blessing rather than a curse since the shift of players gives them some breathing space and also keeps them fresh. The 23-year old England international striker says:
Last season we had a lot of injuries and we had a few players who played a lot of games and they were tired.
Now we have a big squad so hopefully the rotation policy will help us. I think we are a lot fresher.
A lot of players have not played so many games this season. We brought players in, the squad is bigger and we have not really got any serious injuries at the moment.
You can almost see Rafa screaming at the media foxes who have persistently censured his rotation policy. But Benitez might do well to realize that while his rotation system has miserably failed, that of Sir Alex has massively succeeded.
