Chelsea manager Avram Grant is indeed a diplomat. He must be seething with anger deep inside at Jose Mourinho’s words that he would like to “kill” Chelsea should he ever face them when he is managing another club but the Israeli has refused to be drawn to any off-the-pitch meaningless battles.
Grant, who replaced Mourinho at the Stamford Bridge helm in September, says:
I am not a man of fighting… the only fight I know is on the pitch.I will fight for my team – I will do everything for my club and I have a lot of respect to all the people, including Jose, but I need to concentrate only on my club and not on what other people say.
You can rest assured that had Mourinho been in Grant’s shoes, then he would have blasted the persons who would dare to say another against Chelsea. But Grant has proved to be someone wholly different and maybe Chelsea are better off with Grant for this reason.
