Since defeating Chelsea at Wembley in the FA Cup final last month, Tottenham Hotspur have lost twice in a row, first to Birmingham City in the Premiership and then to PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Cup in midweek.
These results do not augur well for Spurs and manager Juande Ramos knows that. Therefore he is urging his players to put in more effort and refurbish themselves ahead of their Premiership clash with fellow Londoners West Ham United at the weekend.
We are trying not to relax but perhaps with winning the trophy a little bit of relaxation sets in. What we will have to do is recover the intensity so we can have a good end of the season.
I hope all my players give 100 per cent whenever they are playing and at the end of the season I will make my decisions depending on what I want to do.
Maybe Ramos will rest some players ahead of next week’s confrontation with PSV since they have nothing to play for really in the Premiership this season.
