Once upon a time Arsenal were storming to the Premier League title but now they are in serious danger of slipping back to second. True, the Gunners have a 2 point advantage over their nearest rivals Manchester United but the Red Devils have a game in hand and winning that match would lift Sir Alex Ferguson’s side to the pole position.
Arsenal have drawn their last three matches in the Premiership and Gunners midfielder Mathieu Flamini says that they have no one but themselves to blame and urges the players to raise their game. The French midfielder says:
The pitch was horrible but it was the same for both teams. Of course we like to play and we had to play more long balls, so it was more difficult for us.
But you cannot moan. You just have to score goals and we didn’t, so now we have to work harder in training and be ready for Middlesbrough on Saturday.
When you want to win the title you have to be ready to fight.
Yet all is not lost for Arsenal at this stage. After all, Arsene Wenger’s men are still in the UEFA Champions League and are going strong in the Premiership. One win and the Gunners will be firing in all cylinders once again.
