Not everyone has been too surprised when Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson blasted the match official who were in charge of their FA Cup, quarter-final defeat to Portsmouth at Old Trafford on Saturday last but Pompey manager Harry Redknapp was!
Redknapp says that he felt Sir Alex to be quite normal when they met just after the match and elaborates:
I went in Alex’s office after the game and he was as good as gold.
We had a quick glass of wine together and he was fine, not a problem.
He certainly didn’t say anything to me about the referee or about Ronaldo’s treatment. I only knew what he’d said when I saw it on the TV on the coach.
Hm…. Makes you wonder when that blasting of the referees was more a contemplative idea than a spontaneous outburst of frustration and annoyance.
