Daniel Agger hasn’t featured in the first team for Liverpool since September due to a broken metatarsal and he wouldn’t play for the Reds again this season. This after the club decided to allow him to go under the knife once again to enable him to smooth his return from injury next season.
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez says:
It’s a blow for Daniel but we want to get his problem sorted.
We have defensive cover and Martin Skrtel is playing very well. Daniel will be back for next season.
Indeed Liverpool wouldn’t count the loss of Agger for the rest of the season as a blow since their defence once again looks solid as of old. But Agger would certainly be disappointd with himself for the injury blow.
