Chelsea player and manager are shocking individuals

Who’s worse – Ashley Cole for a shocking challenge on Alan Hutton and then a petulant display immediately afterwards, or Avram Grant for claiming that he didn’t see the lunge?

Channel 4 reports that Grant’s opposite number Juande Ramos certainly managed to see it, claiming that the left-back got away with being dismissed.

Ramos said: “The referee decided it was a yellow card, but we’ve seen tackles which were much less serious which have earned red cards, like Robbie Keane’s this season.

“But we have to respect the officials’ decisions on things like that.”

The Daily Mirror reports that his assistant Gus Poyet was incandescent with rage.

Tottenham No.2 Poyet screamed: “That was a f***ing red card and you know it” at fourth official Steve Bennett.

However, the same article reports that the Chelsea manager was suffering from a rare form of myopia, known as ‘linointhewayitis’.

“I didn’t see it, the assistant referee was in my way.”

What a hypocrite he and his Chelsea team are. Once again, the book should be thrown at them for failing to keep their players under control. Come on FA, do your job – they’re happy to appeal against wrongdoings so should be prepared to accept punishment when it comes their way.
