…So says Sir Alex Ferguson, who started frothing at the mouth over his young Portuguese winger when asked if he would beat Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s club record 44 goals.
Fergie the red nosed gaffer claimed that he isn’t setting Ronaldo any targets, but with the outrageous talents that the Portuguese winger has – Ferg doesn’t see any reason why he can’t beat Ruud’s record.
The Ferg then went off on a major Ronaldo praising session, getting a little carried away in the process:
“I’m not setting targets for the lad. But the boy’s form demands attention and he’s getting plenty of that. His form has been fantastic. There is no end to where we think he can go.
“He has the world in front of him. He’s so quick. His speed with the ball is the real asset he has. He’s probably just as quick running with the ball as without it.
“There have been a few players like that in the past. Maradona, for example. Ronaldo is similar.”
Hang on a sec, comparing Ronnie to Maradona? Aren’t there laws against that?…
