Man City fish for 50m Spurs pair, but why would they bite?
March 24, 2008
I guess Spurs fans shouldn’t be too surprised at this level of interest in their Bulgarian star Dimitar Berbatov, but can anyone explain to me why the hell would the striker go to Eastlands? Sven has also shown interest in off form winger Aaron Lennon, but surely he too would have little to gain in moving to Man City.
A 32m move for Bulgarian hitman Dimitar Berbatov has already been authorised by City owner Thaksin Shinawatra and Eriksson also wants Aaron Lennon bringing a total bill of around 50m for the White Hart Lane duo (Daily Mirror).
No offence to the Blues but why would Dimitar join the City revolution, it seems that both sides are on a similar page in terms of development and I don’t see Berbatov upping sticks for Manchester, although given Lennon’s poor performances of late it could be that he has no choice in the matter as Juande Ramos may have lost patience in the England wide-man.

Got something to say?

this is a joke ramos will never sell berba & lennon
Apparently, according to the press, Berba is desperate to go to Man City so that he can join up with his mate, Martin Petrov. It seems to have escaped the hacks at the News Of The World that Berba and Petrov have happily played for different club teams for most, if not all, of their club careers.
Clearly, this is nothing more a silly, slow news day story - or laughable optimism on the part of Man City. Berba wants to play in Europe next season and, as things stand, Man City face a struggle even to qualify via the Intertoto Cup. Under Ramos, Spurs are getting better and better and, with a large transfer kitty at his disposal, there is real hope for next season. Furthermore, Spurs play the kind of football that Berba loves to play.
City, by contrast, are entirely dependent on the further benificence of Sinawatra and they don’t play the kind of football that Berba loves. Chances of him moving to Eastlands therefore - zero. And I think that 99% of City fans are sensible enough to realise that.
It is possible that Berba could be tempted elsewhere in the summer. But he will only leave for a top club like Real Madrid, AC Milan or Man Utd.
More likely that Petrov moves to WHL
It’s just a paper story. Can’t believe Sven would be daft enough to offer this amount for Berbatov. We’ve got our own Bulgarian striker almost ready at City without going for the older player (no offence to the Yids). The big money is aimed elsewhere. This is just a smokescreen. As for Lennon, you’ve really got to be joking.
Get it through you thick yid skulls. WE DON’T WANT BERBATOV. TOO MOODY, UNRELIABLE AND TEMPERAMENTAL. - AND PETROV IS GOING PRECISELY NOWHERE. He doesn’t regret coming to Manchester despite his “best mate” having hissy fits that he didn’t go to WHL. Yes it’s true we depend on Shinawatra’s benificience. A cool £3bn of it. Remind me, how much did your owner lose last week in the Bear Stearns fiasco, was it £500m, £600m? As for Europe, don’t worry Yids, we’re coming, we’re coming.
man city got more chance of winning something than gettin berba
1. sven will never have the budget to be able to spend 30/35 mill on a single player. no matter what the speculation on how much shinawatra has or has not.
2.why would berba leave spurs for city?????…..its a move that makes absolutely no sense. we have finished top 5 last 2 seasons, and although we had a bad start this campaign,,the future under the tactical mastery of Ramos, one of the best managers in europe (6 trophies in 2 years), is surely very bright. add to that what i beleive to be a very talented squad and a club that is the 11th richest in the world, and can afford to add top , top quality players,….. you start to see what im getting at. this proposed transfer is as likely as kaka going to everton or pompey in the summer.
3. IF berba does leave, it will obviously be for a champs league team. but not just any champs league team, but only a team capable of winning the trophy. so that narrows it to say, man u..chelsea ( although i dont think we will sell to a prem team- to much for the fans to take!!!!) barca, real M, inter milan, A.C….etc etc
LMOA LMAO LMAO, GET A BIG PANSY LIFE
CITY DO NOT WANT BERBEY & I DO NOT WANT BERBY AT CITY, 30mil+, YOU ARE HAVING A LAUGH WHEN WE CAN GET JO or FABIANO for 7 to 12 MIL
LENNON, again Why would city want him when we have far better wingers, MOVE ON.
Trust me, Spurs are not even close to having to potential of City, lets get real here, ALL our PLAYERS are Very young if not Young, ALL INTERNATIONALS.
As soon as we have the magic PLAYERS to complete us we will be 1 of the regular top 5.
Logic & Realism, Logic & Realism.
AG are u on the crack pipe man? berba is to “unreliable” ? wake the fuck up u dopey clown will you……as for what joe lewis lost in bear stearns, that affects us absolutely in no way at all….do some research before you post you fool. joe lewis lost 500mil. a fraction of his PERSONAL fortune. we are owned by ENIC and although the two are linked it affects our position in no way. ENIC is a very healthy, wealthy business. there turnover and profits are seperate from what joe lewis invests in elsewhere. and we are the 11th richest club in the world. thats what the club makes and generates, and again, nothing to do with joe lewis. so Homer you really should do dome homework. and as for your own “bulgarian striker that is nearly ready” are you refering to bojinov? more like bodge-a-job…..check out his goal scoring rate in Italy before you signed him…if he gets 8 a season for you, you will be doing well. unlike berbatov who was the 2nd highest goalscorer in germany b4 we got him
To AG - firstly, son, if you don’t want Berba, then you are a fool. Or you simply know nothing about football. Far be it from me to enlighten you, though. You stick to Benjani and Mpenza. There’s a good lad.
Secondly, whatever Joe Lewis has lost or not lost in the collapse of Bear Stearns is of supreme indifference to Spurs. Lewis has never ploughed money into Spurs and we are able to spend big in the transfer market purely because we are a very well run club with a large fan base. We don’t need a rich benefactor.
Now, as to these anger issues that you suffer from……I’m sure that your doctor could prescribe some pills. Off you go now.
BUMP:

Keep Berb & Lennon, we dont want either, we have as i said better wingers & again, why the hell would we want berbery when we have the wonger to buy bigger & trust me when i say this, Bojinov will show how much better he is.
load or rubbish, no way would Dimi step down, he may want to jump ship to champ league club like Man Utd but Man citeh, are you sure? Sure Man Citeh have had quite a good season but do you really think spurs will have such a bad season again next year? If i were you i would just carry on signing players who didnt make the grade in italy, surely one will turn out to be average sooner or later?
Man city are not only in a false position they play awful football, the Elanos and petrovs have been found out,all your youngsters apart from richards are shit, you are a small club that can easily get demoted to wher you have been playing for the last 30yrs,you have an awful dreary charmless clueless manager whos football is about as charismatic as himself,we whooped you with 10 men when were motivated enough, please tell me why the fuck a brilliant player would entertain the idea, laughable is an understatement..
COYS…………
mighty blue
do yourself a favour mate. check out exactly how many goals the mighty bojinov scored in the season in italy, before he came to you.
off you go now. theres a good boy.
Ah 3bn that he stole from his home land. You citeh fans must be so proud. He is right up there with mugabe and saddam.
He chose us ahead of Man utd,but then thought i want to play for the mighty Man city instead,,HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH..
..
lol Yids, you have some untreatable issues im guessing, so the only non shit youngster we have is richards ayem then explain this:
Johnson, Elano, Onouha, Caceido, Hart, Obeng, Logan, Fernandes, Etuhu, Sturridge & Evans. forgive me if i forgot anyone.
Blind, stupid, moronic & braindead.
Any Spurs fan that says they would not want all those players at Spurs would be lying, the world knows City have the Best youth System in the UK & the best acadamy, FACT. Move on & stop thinking your bigger & better than us, TRUTH IS YOUR NOT.
Mighty blue
give you credit for richards and onouha…but hart DID NOT COME THROUGH THE CITY ACADEMY….he joined you 2 seasons ago didnt he?….and Elano is not a youngster u fucking moron !!!! fernandes you signed in the summer, caceido you signed in january….as for the rest, who the fuck are they?…..
if i recall your 36 thousand strong, what is that on a bad day?
History boils down to almost nothing in the end, memories are great but they dont get you anything later on down the road.
Its here & now thats what is important & where are you exactly, you have the same squad near enough that you had last season.
Yid, as for making out our manager is clueless, so your telling me Ramos is better, Ramos is a nobody compared to Sven.
Your all deluded & pathetic. move on.
who the fuck are those youngsters?no one has ever heard of them outside your club, anyone can put their reserves up,it means fuck all, what they done?and we are now as small as Man City, trying looking up some stats we are officially the 11th biggest club in world football, you are not even as big as the likes of leeds utd,you are on a par with the birminghams and wolves of this world..
know your place..cheers..
Cartel_only
If you go back to school & learn to read then come back you will then find out i never stated they were all from our Youth setup.
i stated we had the best Youth acadamy in the UK & also stated seperately that all our Youth are Internationals & quality, for yid to call them cr*p is just childish & pathetically jealous.
the youngsters i menioned are all on the first team list, some or loaned out, others on the bench learning their trade, all again Internationals & if you do your homework i can garuantee you that you would take any one of them to spurs if you had the ability.
Move on japeyes
Typical Cockney nobodies!! Why would Berb want to go to Man City!!! Just because you win a little cup you think you up with the big boys! Your having a laugh!!
It is paper garbage but if the story is true then he probably wants to turn his back on the pathetic spuds for the same reason as Petrov did. Watch this space you cockney tossers
Yid, shut up, your a tool, you know nothing.
mighty blue
im the one who has to go to school? but your the one who is naming elano (25 or 26 isnt he) as part of your youth setup!!!!…..you dont even know your own players u silly boy…..you have made yourself look silly…..mug
So how does it feel to have dictator at your club.
and as for comparing Ramos to sven….dont make me laugh. Ramos has won 6 trophies in 2 years….sven wont win 6 trophies in the next 20yrs if he stays at city….and the success he had in italy was when he was handed huge money. like mourhnio at chelsea……Ramos took sevilla into the champs league with a shoe string budget…..these 2 managers are not on the same level. do your homework boy
Cartel you moron, i did not state Elano was from our Youth setup, geeez what a gimp.
ye hes 26, that makes him young enough in football terms moron meaning we have a devistatingly younger team than you deluded lot.
Move on Cartel ya plebnut.
“Johnson, Elano, Onouha, Caceido, Hart, Obeng, Logan, Fernandes, Etuhu, Sturridge & Evans”
mmmm……… who?
Man city, you are a club that have been hibernating for the best part of half a century, have some respect when you adress your peers,as for those youngsters they are shit otherwise the likes of us or any other big clubs would just pluck them from you,we have Bale and hutton that is what i would call quality youngsters, not just posting names for the sake of it,only richards would get on our bench behind a fit ledley and woodgate, the rest you keep em..
As for Erricson being better than ramos,do you do stand up..HAHAHAHAHAHA..
Azza, Thaksin is fine by us, go find some new material & take your gimpish friends with you, your sorry attempt to wind up is lame at best.
lol not the first site ive come across where Spurs fans think we are their rivals, what are you, part time United fans?
lol loosers, hopefully you wont improve much & then you will finally see that you are not as big as you think. the balance is correcting itself. ;0)
mighty blue, are you smoking some really hard sh*t? the minute you tried to compare boijnov to berbatov, i knew that there was no point in continuing reading any of your other posts. and then you had the cheek to mention sven in the same sentence as ramos? you mancs really are a funny lot
mighty blue
go back and read the post u thick cunt LOL….you where naming elano next to your other young players, and talking about how great the city youth system is!…..and no 26 does not make elano part of the up and coming city youth!!! you thick bastard.
You can keep Johnson, Elano, Onouha, Caceido, Hart, Obeng, Logan, Fernandes, Etuhu, Sturridge & Evans.
We’ll have youngsters that people have actually heard of like Bale, O’hara, Tarabtt, Lennon,
well…..spurs fans certainly take the bitter deluded shit head biscuit. you won’t keep Berba the sulky test because he wants a big club and that is NOT spurs
I like City but personally i’d be a bit insulted if Berba left for city, when he told us we wants to win things
Oniel, we mancs maybe a funny lot but atleast our feet are always on the ground & atleast we are not deluded like you lot are, you whine & bitch like M United fans as if your something special but the truth is your nothing, you make out your so so big but truth is your mid table mediocre, deluded, moronic & pathetically childish.
Grow up, the day Ramos joins the League of Sven, Wenger & Sir F will be the day he achieves 3 times what he has done already.
As for Bojinov, you will see & when you finally do you i will be laughing my ars off at you.
tata gimps, i have better things to be doing with my time, not wasting it on here anymore with a group of no hopers like you.
Sven has won more than ramos dickhead
Ferguson Wenger and……………. Sven! Priceless!
Yes, mighty blue. Only 36,000 at the Lane.
But we sell it out for every game - as we would if we had a 48,000 capacity - despite huge ticket prices. City, on the other hand, play to some 8,000 empty seats for most home games, despite comparatively low ticket prices.
And you’re right that City do have a really good Academy at the moment. And some good young players. Spurs’ Academy was neglected for a while but is now a priority and will soon start producing. Meanwhile, for every good City youngster, Spurs have one of their own - Huddlestone, Lennon, Bale, Taraabt, O’Hara, Gunter etc. Plenty more coming through the ranks.
And while Sven has an excellent managerial history, I think even the most one eyed City fan would concede that Ramos’ recent record is superior and that Ramos’ style of football is infinitely more entertaining.
As to Spurs not having the same potential as City, I presume that you mean that Spurs don’t have City’s potential to go more than 30 years without winning a trophy?
In this one matter, I make you right.
Night night mighty blue, its nice to get to bed this early that way you wont keep having those funny dreams..
mighty blue has to be the biggest clown around….hahahaha what a fucking headbanger!!!! first of he compares bodge-a-job, sorry i mean bojinov (who the fuck is he?) to Berbatov…..then he starts singing about the city youth system, and there young players and naming 26yr old elano next to other young players they have!!!!…..dont you just love it when a thick manc cunt makes a fool of himself!!!! LMFAO
For the economically illeterate JG. Leiws has lost about £450million and has only £2.2 billion left. He has the advantage of having made it legally and is not under any investigation for theft or abusing human rights. He made his money in international markets not by stealing from his countrymen.
He has been the owner of Spurs for several years not a few months. let’s see how long before City are on the market again. By the way spurs are in the EUFA Cup again next season and hold the Carling Cup. In case I’m missing something what is the attraction of City to Berbatov. Surely you don’t think Petrov needs his hand held.
The fact is if berbatov didnt want to play for us he would of been gone in the summer and the odds are he will stay with us because of ramos and will be with us for at least another season.
To ofortuna - you’re right. Berba may well leave Spurs.
The point is, though, that he would never leave Spurs for City.
Nor would Spurs sell him to City.
Johnd dont mention that vile piece of crap owner they have.they just ignore that question because they know its true.
What a great blog!!!
BEEN LAUGHING MY TITS OFF FOR THE LAST 5 MINS!
Berbatov for City, ha ha hah Good luck city fans, I think Sven will be gone by the middle of next season as relegation looms again.
COYS
First time I’ve posted on here and probably the last if all the puerile ‘yah-boo sucks’ stuff is all the site has to offer.
Burgerchops will most likely leave Spurs for one of several reasons: like ‘money’; like ‘fame’; like ‘to join up with his mate’; like ‘homesick’; like ‘easy life’, like ‘pissed off with living next door to Cockney gits’.
If City, Rags, Villa, Pompey, Chelski, Arsenal or anyone else came up with an appealing package he’d be off faster than you could say ‘Shalom’.
I think Spurs fans are possibly the most delusional in the Prem, even worse than we are when it comes to kidding ourselves on that we are a mega club. You are no nearer overtaking the Arse than we are of topping Man U over a 38-game season.
Cop on to yourselves, guys. We are ‘work in progress’ and so are you. Not so long since you were hailing Martin Jol as the next messiah and we were stuck with Psycho.
I hope for your sakes that Jerry Lee Lewis is not as skint as the papers are making him out to be. Likewise I hope Frank gets his sponds
back from his mates in Bangkok so we can get Messi and Kaka as well.
Lastly, I don’t believe City have made a bid for Barbershop, or even an approach. If I believed everything I’d read in the papers or on the web this season we’d have a 59-strong squad with 7 keepers!
Seriously Man City fans, are you joking? I’m an Arsenal fans but come on, SPurs fans might be over-optimistic, but the things that MightyBlue is coming out with is the definition of “deluded”. Berbatov is a class act, yes hes a moany cunt, but he would walk into any first 11 in the Prem without a shadow IMO. You think Sven is better than Ramos? Look at what Ramos has won in the last 2 years, look what Sven did for England. If you think Sven is the 3rd best manager in the league you are wrong. Man City were good at he beginning of the season, now they are shite and will remain a mid-table team. And the youngsetrs you named? WHO THE FUCK? The yiddos have so much more potential in terms of youngsters and if you look at the average age of Sp*rs, then you will see that they are the youngest in the Prem. Hutton, Bale, Gunter, Tarrabt, O’Hara, Lennon, Huddlestone, Dawson is still young etc. You get the point.
league position speaks for its self you southern cunts…… lets hope bin laden can pinpoint spurs on the map and do us all a favour
Look this story is rubbish anyway,, Its been written by the Mirror which is predominantly a Man U paper..
Im a City fan and all you dreamers on here have this view that Tottenham will win things… You win a carlin Cup and all of a sudden you are challenging.. Get real your not in the same league as the big four and never will be (and sorry to say neither are City).
Your not that much better off than City (and you have no youth). You have to also ask yourself why Petrov chose City and not Spurs?
I cant see Berbatov coming to City but he wont stay at Spurs thats for sure..
I think it might be something to do with the fact that he is driving around in a massive bentley right now at mr thaskins expense……
elano
petrov went to city for 2 reasons only.
1. it was a quarantee that he would play week in week out, with no real competition for his place….that was not the case if he had come to spurs ( petrov said this himself in one of the 1st interviews he gave after joining city)
2. money…..although spurs are the 11th richest club in the world and in another league to city ( who i dont think are in the top 50?) we have a strict wage structure in place. untill petrov proved himself he would of been on 25 or 30k per week….city were willing to give him 50k per week…..these are the 2 reasons why martin petrov plays for city.
oh yeah, elano
lennon (20), bale (18), o hara (21), taarabt (18), huddlestone (20) etc etc…..but we have no youth!………….please…..
all this rubbish between man city and spurs fans, city do have alot of potential, but so do spurs. we both are in very similar posisitions, we both have very wealthy owners (although city look like they are going to rely on theirs much more than spurs do), we both have top managers and we both have very good young players.
realistically though, i don’t believe for a second that manchester city fans wouldnt be happy if berbatov signed, whether that be for £20m or £35m, though i think there’s more chance of tottenham signing one of your stars, just because we are in europe and we are the more likely team to reach that 4th spot.
if we combined the two team when fully fit it would probally go like this…. in my opinion:
Hart… Richards, Woodgate, King, Bale… Jenas, Johnson, Hamann, Petrov… Keane Berbatov…. so we just edge it, 6 to 5, however, we have far more strength in depth.
though, if you look at our players there, i can’t see you signing anyone or having anyone in your squad to reach the potential of our players, i can’t see city finding two forwards who combined can reach 50 goals in a season, i can’t see you finding two centre backs who are as good as king and woodgate, and i’d be amazed if you could find another left back anywhere in the world, from any team with as much potential as gareth bale… where if we switch it around, there are keepers as good as hart, not taking anything away from the boy, he looks very good, but there are better, richards, fair enough, he’s fantastic, and has been one of my favourite players outside spurs since he broke through, johnson another boy with huge potential, but there is better, hammann, he’s on his last legs, many better players in his position now, petrov, very good, i envy city for signing him. overall though, i think tottenham are much closer to that 4th spot at the moment, but the summer will tell more.
City, over 30 Years without a trophy
Yo yo club in recent times
Dodgey owner
Can’t fill their ground (even with ridiculously low prices)
Manchester - good for the odd weekend but not much else
Nuff said
COYS!
Well-reasoned and sensible post, Yido88.
Remedy,
You won the cup and league double because an air crash crippled the best side around at the time.
You won a cup final courtesy of the flukiest goal ever seen at Wembley - Hoddle’s deflected fk, which was going for the corner flag until it hit Tommy Hutch’s shoulder.
Not much else to boast about surely?
We played to bigger crowds when we were in Div 2 than you have now.
I will admit London’s quite fun, except for chances of encountering infantile prats like you.
AND, NO, WE ARE NOT A REALLY MASSIVE MEG A CLUB.
Why can’t you admit you are a second-rate side living in the shadow of The Arse? I’ll happily acknowledge that we are in the same boat vis-a-vis Manure. We don’t have their money or their organisation, or their ability to court the press or con referees.
You are, by your own admission, loaded. What is it, 12th richest club? Jerry Lee Lewis has a bottomless pit of loot. But the rag-tag selection of managers you’ve employed over the years can’t hold a candle to Arsene Wenger. And you are jealous as hell, paranoid and a tad neurotic.
I’ve no particular gripe against Spuds but would appreciate some of their supporters (like you) taking a reality check..
Cop On You Spurs!
Good to read a balanced view from Yido88, the vast majority of other Spurs fans posts are laughable. Of course City fans would welcome a player like Berb, the guy is class but I don’t see him coming to City the same as I don’t see Spurs hanging on to him. As far as youth is concerned there can be no doubt that at City we have the best acadamy in the PL although i agree that Spurs also have some good young players. Ramos has done a great job and has a fantastic cup record but to say that he is superior to Sven is a joke, he’s won trophies at all his clubs and has the ability to bring in top talent. As I see it Spurs and City and in a similar place at the moment but when you consider that City were relegation fodder last year and Spurs were billed as potential top 4 it’s clear that City have made more progress this season. Next year we’ll see a much better free flowing City side, if Spurs lose Berbatov I think you’ll be lucky to make top 6. We just beat you 2-1, are 1 point off 6th spot with 7 games to go, I think most City fans are happy with that at this point in our progression, don’t let the Caling Cup win paper over what has been a very average season when you Spurs fans expected so much.
Yido88, great post. Hard to argue with your selection except I’d maybe go Hart, Corluka, Richards, King, Bale; maybe Elano for Jenas (close call) and I’d prefer Fernandes (fast improving young player, great work rate) to Hammann
And yes, I’d be delighted if Berbatov signed for City. But I don’t think it will happen.
sorry does anyone else wonder where the fuck 18 million for aaron lennon came from?
Captain Dunkirk
What about the other 14 trophies? lol
Listen mate I’m only messing about.. all these stupid debates about bigger clubs etc is bullshit anyway. I follow my team home & away and City fans are among my favorite bunch, always a good laugh.
Shadow of the Arse? cyclical.. My old man never heard of em in the 60s & we had spells in the 80s when we were a far better side.
I really do hope your’e joking disrespecting the work of legends like Bill Nic, Jimmy Greaves & Danny Blanchflower et al …. granted Bubsy Babes could of been great(er) our double team was… shame they couldn’t of come head to head
Hart
Hutton — Woodgate — King — Bale
Elano — Johnson— Malbranque — Petrov
Berbatov—Keane
ash
ash your right. our current league position and finishing outside the top 6 will be a big disappointment for spurs. but could city fans say the same?
spurs wanting to break the top 4 is only right and proper and in no way deluded (as alot of football fans will say) when u consider that we have been 5th for 2 seasons back to back…..as for us not getting carried away with the carling cup, i think thats a silly comment, as the carling cup has placed us in europe again…..when the season comes to an end shortly, city may or may not make the uefa places…but u may finish 2 or 3 places above us. but which is the sucess…..what would you have taken if offered- 7th or 8th and no uefa place. or a trphy and european football again next year?….and remember weve got those 2 things even though we have under acheived this season…..as for ramos and sven….i have a great deal of respect for sven…he has won trophies in 3 different leagues…..but in fairness that was some time ago….Ramos has won 6 trophies in the last 2 years and took sevilla into the champions league AND into a position where they could of beaten barca and real madrid to the la liga title with only 2 games to go! ( in my mind a much greater acheivement than all his cups). he done this at sevilla WITHOUT a rich owner or substantial funds. …so for me its obviously Ramos all the way!!!…but well done on city making a huge improvement this season. i think it will be a long time again b4 you finish above us so enjoy!!!!!
Robinson
Richards Dunne King Bale
Johnson Huddlestone Petrov
Elano
Berbatov Keane
Hart
Richards Dunne King Bale
Elano Johnson Jenas Petrov
Berbatov Keane
Cartel_only…….In terms of improvement this year there is only one winner. Congrats on winning Carling cup and getting into Europe but what plans are in the pipeline to break into top 4? We only ever read about players leaving Spurs, there was no chat about Richards going to the lane when his contract was up in the air, you missed out on Petrov who you should have signed…..it is a sorry state of affairs when money can buy you sucess but thats how it is. City are been linked to your best player not the other way round, that in itself says something about our clubs ambition no matter the fact that it will never happen! I’ve always liked Spurs and the style of football you play but don’t rule City out of potential top 4 in not to distant future. Good luck in UEFA next year and good luck in keeping hold of the Berb, I think most people expect him to be moving on in the summer, probably to UTD I hate to say. My starting XI……Hart Corluka Richards King Bale Elano Johnson Hamann Petrov Berbatov Keane………look out for Castillo and Casiedo they look class!
The Mirror are United fans they will do anything to cause trouble for us Blues they are the gutter press we were linked with Robinson at Xmas by them and look hes back in the first team now. My advice to you Spurs fans is dont buy the mirror.
Blowin bubbles…
a player like berbatov would never leave spurs for a club like city.
YID ARMY
man shitty…lets leave it at that.
are you serious city fans? wake up!!!
you wish you could lure berbatov, whatever you think of him he is easily one of the top 5 strikers in the premiership, and oozes class. him, torres, rooney, adebayor and drogba shit all over the other strikers.
also, it’s all well and good saying you have good youngsters, but where’s the proof. you are all saying we have been crap this season, but we won a trophy and beat you with 10men didn’t we? you haven’t won jack in 50 years…not a bad side, but seriously, you just cant compare with us - 3 consecutive years of european football, make us the 5th biggest team in the country.
for the people who are saying that city are not in the top 20 of the richest clubs in the world well heres the list
1 (1) Man Utd £171.5m
2 (4) Real Madrid £156.3m
3 (3) AC Milan £147.2m
4 (10) Chelsea £143.7m
5 (2) Juventus £142.4m
6 (7) Arsenal £115m
7 (13) Barcelona £110.1m
8 (6) Inter Milan £110.3m
9 (5) Bayern Munich £110.1m
10 (8) Liverpool £92.3m

Previous season’s position in brackets
don’t make me laugh, sven is priceless in manager post??! please watch how disgraceful he lead england,he is dumbest and clueless manager i had ever seen when he selected a big group of talented england players?! his first 11 will never changed which make him a disgraceful manager in the whole ENGLAND HISTORY. he can’t even do well for a powerful country like ENGLAND,how can he do anything special for just a original club like MAN CITY?!! by the way,man city is not a well known team around the world and it mean they are not anywhere near the top 50 teams in the world.
Berbatov will not go Manchester City. He will go abroad, to a club he would definitly start most of the time. But that would only happen at the end of next season if we dont qualify for the Champions League, if we do Berbatov will stay. He can see how good Ramos is and what Ramos is doing at the club. Big shame we got knocked out by PSV, would of had Sporting Lisbon (i think?) which is a team we could of easily beaten.
Even though its been reported Berbatov could buy his contract out in the summer of 2009 for 1.8 million, but I dont see that happening since he loves the club and wouldnt screw us over like that.
How much the fans love him he wont get at any other club, a footballer will only be loved and truely appreciated by one club in their career as a footballer. He just wants to play Champions League football and win medals, if Tottenham could at least challenge for trophies and get in the Champions League he will stay at Tottenham for the rest of his career. Well he might leave when hes in his 30’s to play in Spain or Italy to do experience a different league and win something there.
He can become a legend at Tottenham like Greaves, Hoddle, Jennings etc
We just need to match his ambitions with signing top players that arnt over-rated and are consistent and we can make it into the top 4.
As for Aaron Lennon going to Manchester City for 18 million pounds, yes please. His final ball is poor which is 99% of the time, would rather have Bentley then him.
50m for the duo? just take the money. their forms have dropped this season.
ash
ash come on, seriously!….its shows the ambition of city when you are being linked with berbatov???………but your not seriously linked with berbatov!!!!!!!!!! its all waffle paper talk!!!….and a story by a board journalist!!!!……….if i decide to write a blog 2moro saying kaka could join blackburn in the summer, does that mean blackburn are “showing ambition” ??????…………..your original post was good, but that comment you made in your last is nieve to say the least!!! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO LINK OR TRUTH IN THE BERBATOV / CITY STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mighty Blue, you idiot.
I’m a blue and i cringe at your comments. Spurs under Ramos may well finish above us next year, he’s a top manager and hes young and hungry.
Bojinov is good but totally unproven in the Prem, look at Bianchi last year in Serie A - awesome, scored for fun but failed in the premiership!.
Berbatov wont come to City, Sven won’t spend 30m on one player this is just paper talk, end of.
Spurs fans, well done with getting Ramos but hes right about our youngsters (Elano? ha ha) Sturridge will break through next year and watch out for Vladimir Weiss, you heard it here first.
Moss, the only gimp here is you, dont think for a second i have any loyalty for you just because you wear the same shirt i do you jumped up moron, your probably 1 of the Doommunger clan.
You like all these spuds write offf Bojinov before hes even really played a game, as for matching him with Bianchi, you really are a thicko, 2 completely different players & playing styles, you are the 1 that thinks he knows something when infact he knows nothing.
&, &, & if you learn to read also gimp, i did not say Ramos was not quality, i just said to say hes better than Sven is spear patheticness, look at Svens CV before he joined City, dont be F,n stupid.
As for wanting Berbery at City, I AM A CITY FAN & I SPEAK FOR FAR MORE CITY FANS THAN ANY OF YOU OTHERS WHEN I SAY WE DONT WANT HIM, we would rather have Fabiano or Jo at less than half the price.
TY moving on.
p.s. i never had a problem with spuds unitl 2 years ago when i started encountering Spuds mouthing off at us online about how bigger & better spurs were, i dont mean 1 or 2 of you either, your all f,n deluded morons that think spurs are M United.
WE DO NOT WANT BERB, UNDERSTAND.
IF you really want to know whats going on, City are watching Fabiano, Jo & D Villa, all priced between 7m & 17m
Take your 1 time wonder & no hope lennon, Sven wont waste money on them, thats the only intelligent thing moss echoes.
The facts are these.
Spurs can keep Berbatov at 32 million. He is a moody little shit who would be classed in the luxury player category.
This day and age in the premiership you need all the atributes to be a top class striker. Look at Drogba for the perfect example! (even though I think he is a twat).
Berbatov can make me feel depressed just by looking at him!
In relation to Sven vs Ramos… No comparison! Completely different style… Too soon to judge who will come out on top but at the moment Sven edges it.
City have a lot of young foriegn players thrown together in a couple of weeks with no pre season behind them.. Time will tell but I think next year you will see the real thing!
Thanks for that, Remedy. no offence taken.
And ‘88, I’d forgotten Malbranque, one of my fave midfield players. So I’ll put Elano back on the bench
Hart
Corluka, Richards, King, Bale
Malbranque, Fernandes, Johnson, Petrov
Berbatov, Keane
Isaksonn, Dunne, Woodgate, Elano, Jenas
Would love Berbs but £32 is too much. £40 inc Malbranque you have a done deal. Anyhow it’s all bollocks, paper talk.
Back to the real world - plotting to slaughter those Brummie b*strds
mighty blue u have done it again…..made yourself look like the biggest clown around with your valuations of fabiano and villa?…….sevilla have whacked 40mil on fabiano and villa wouldnt be far behind…….where the fuck did u get 7 to 17mil u gimp?…..but its all academic anyway……you have as much chance of getting berbatov, villa, fabiano etc etc as u have of winning a trophy!!!! zero!!!!
now onto bojog…..please explain how sven currently edges it over ramos???? by “current” i assume u mean current form? well ramos has 6 trophies in the last 2 years, and has already won his 1st trophy in the prem and will be playing european football again next year…..sven?…..what year did he last win something?????
LOVE ALL THE MANC CITEE (WANNANBEE MANURE FANS), SHITE CLUB SHITE SUPPORT AND NEVER WIN ANYTHING, WHAT A JOKE YOU CLOWNS ARE, GET YA MAN UTD SCARFS BACK OUT YOU COMEDIANS. CAN’T FILL A STADIUM AND DESERT YOUR CLUB WHEN RELEGATED. AS FOR AG, YOU ARE A PRIZE RACIST COCK, BACK TO YA SCOUSE SUBERB TWAT
Firstly, this is paper talk. There is no way Berba will come to City and I will be surprised if he stays at Spurs much longer. The guy is quality and will probably end up at a real top club.
Secondly, I have to take issue with some Spurs fans giving it the big one. Sure, we’ve been sh1te for years but show some respect for a club that has been champions of this country since the last time you were and a team that has played more top flight games than you. Even head to head, you’ve had to be beat us 15 odd times to our 2 to catch up.
As for Ramos and Sven. Well, yes, I like the look of Ramos but to dimiss Sven so easily shows how little some Spurs fans know about football. Again, look at the stats and show some respect.
Attendances. Sure, we’ve dropped off a bit but historically your average attendance has never been that much more than ours. I can’t be bothered looking it up but I’ve never classed Spurs as ‘Well Supported’. I sure you’ll put me right, but I’m sure I saw empty seats at that recent PSV game….well loyal.
This rich list thing, yeah, Spurs turn over some seriously mullah. Some dick thought we’re not even in the top 50….I think we’re 21st. Again, look it up. But it means sod all. It just means that you’ve had more money to spend than most yet will still finsh behind Everton, Portsmouth, West Ham and even little old City.
The league table does not lie. We will finish above Spurs and are therefore the better team this year.
You can get me! Cheap price too. Franky loves that silly Fifa rule.
I can score as much as Berby.
Franky surely you want to go to Italy for all that pasta & ice cream ?
Cartel, only moron here is you ya deluded little no nothing gimp.
Sevilla have not put a 40 mil tag on Fab, shows how much you know about football ya armchair supporter you ;0D
Fab is club set at 17mil
Villa concedes this will probably be his last season at Valencia & knowing City are in line to chase him he also stated he will consider all options.
As for slapping berbs name in the sentence with these 2 & saying none of them would come to City, all i need do is say dont be pathetically childishly moronic all your life, you won a mickey mouse cup & all of a sudden your bigger than arsenal or Chelsea, i dont think so, we dont think so, look at the table, where are you & where are we, shows how much better than you than spurs we actually are.
suk it up, our team are younger, fitter, better & bigger, jealousy is all it is spouting from the mouthes of spuds. JEALOUSY.
Why all this rubbish about who is bigger and better it’s only paper talk and city are being linked with everyone.we threw a team together in 2 weeks yet are above spurs who said they would break the top 4 this season.next season we will be better and so may spurs but lay off with the insults guys.berbatov will go to manyoo but i think lennon may come to city as that is a problem area for us the lack of a right winger.think city will end up in europe via the fair play league hich will help us get better players..city and spurs to fight it out for 5th place next season..
Oh and Remedy. I don’t diss Billy Nick and he had great players - particularly fond of John White, RIP. I coached a school team back in the early 60s based on the Spurs ‘push-and-run’ system and they won everything in sight.
I’m old enough to have seen both pre-Munich United and Spurs Double XI and I often wonder what would have happened if they’d met on the field of play. In all honesty, I reckon United would have edged it.
got to say a pretty sad debate overall. Being as obective as possible I don’t think one can doubt the potential of either club. However,
1. - Spurs have achieved more recently - top five finishes two years in a row and a trophy this year (albeit the Carling Cup, Chelsea still wanted to really win it)
2. - Whilst Sven has shown capabiliuty in the past it is just that - in the past. Ramos has a proven recent track record.
3. - Again both teams have good players and new managers - fair to say that Ramos started 12 games into the season at which point Spurs were already a whopping 18 points behind City (7 - 25). The gap is now just 10 points meaning with Ramos Spurs have gained 8 points on City.
4. - Spurs have a significantly better goal difference despite being lower in the league (+9 vs +2). I maintain this is a true measure of consitency.
5. - Also worth noting that Spurs have also been distracted by other competitions such as the CC and UEFA whilst City have concentrated on the league
6. - Sven bought a whole new team whereas Ramos has largely had to work with an inherited squad.
All in all, my point is the judgement should come next year when both managers will start with their own teams and on level points. My hoenst feeling is that Spurs will be the best of the rest (i.e. outside the top 4) by some margin.
Just my opinion..
mighty blue you are a true thick manc……you are the clown who has stated elano is a up and coming youth player at city even though he is 26???…..your own fans are even laughing at you on this site. you think bojinov is the next big thing even though he scored 2 goals in serie A in the season b4 he came to you. you have delusions about man city even though you have beaten us once in 5 seasons. you have delusions of players like villa or fabiano leaving champs league teams to go to eastlands? the ground you rent of the council !!!!…..you havent won a trophy in 30 yrs is it??….and you now have a corrupt thai who owns you!! and b4 he came to your aid, you were 4 points away from relegation and in massive debt at the end of last season…..you havent nowhere near the spending power spurs have in the transfer market, so to name the players you have as possible targets, is the sign of a man sucking on a crackpipe LOL..
i can’t see you finding two centre backs who are as good as king and woodgate
So how many goals has this fantastic centre back duo shipped this season.
Lets get real here City and Spurs fans, niether of us are top four class, and both of us (plus Villa, Everton and Newcastle) will never really break into that cartel for the next three or four years at least.
What I cannot understand is some of the bollocks that both sides of this argument have spouted,
1 of course we would have Berbatov,
and if the money was right
2 of course Spurs would sell him.
3 He probably would not come to us and who can blame him.
Both clubs have great potential and both clubs have potential buying power, but the important word here is POTENTIAL out of the five teams I mention above Everton are nearest to the big four, but until all of us can consolidate and realise some of the potential the ‘big’ four will always be the big four and the rest of us will be also rans.
CTID
Ps Lat year City were the 22nd richest Club, and the year before 17th.
Why would Spurs be jealous of City? Better players, better history, better fans need i say more, and im afriad money talks in Football and we got more money then you so we are the bigger club, if Ramos was there from the start of the season Spurs wouldnt be where they are now and be above 9th place city and pushing for Europe AGAIN.
Mighty Blue you sound like an absolute moron. I’m a Blue and your comments are actually so ridiculously stupid. Spurs are one of the most successful teams of all time and you have the audacity to say that they aren’t a big club? That’s just stupid. I never disliked Spurs either. You would sell your left nut to have Berbatov, based on the fact that should you keep him happy, he almost always scores and has more on-ball skill than any striker I’ve seen for a long, long time. If you can keep him happy, Spurs have a gem on their hands. As for the kids debate, yes I am proud of the players coming through our ranks but talking of young talent, Spurs have some of the best. Bale, Huddlestone, O’ Hara, Lennon, Alnwick, Gunter and Taarapt? From what I have been told, Taarapt will be one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe some day.
As for Ramos and Sven, I’d have to think Ramos barely edges it, merely based on the fact that he is an absolute tactical genious, has already won something with Spurs, and has proven himself well at Sevilla.
On behalf of the City fans, I apologize to some Spurs fans, considering the fact that some of our lot sound like and are acting like complete idiots.
Hardy - You may never have classed Spurs as well supported. That’s probably because Spurs had too small a stadium for too long. Fact is, though, that Spurs’ all time average league attendance is third only Man Utd and Liverpool.
And you can hardly say that Spurs fans have been “giving it the big one” on this thread any more than the City fans.
Mighty Blue - you say that City are linked with Fabiano and David Villa. So what? So are Spurs. You should have learnt by now not to read too much into media speculation (just as no one should read too much into these silly Berbatov to City stories).
And your team and squad is no younger than Spurs’. And, given the recent publicity about Ramos’ regime (and the fact that Spurs comfortably beat City with 10 men), I very much doubt that City are any fitter.
Jealousy? Come back to us when City have won a trophy for the first time in over 30 years or when they qualify for Europe (other than via the fair play award) for the first time in 30 years and then we can start to talk about City not being jealous of Spurs. There’s a good lad.
Mightyblue & co.
May i remind you all that Ramos was the 1st choice manager for city when shinawatra was taking over. you lot had direct contact with him and man city officials where in spain for talks with him. Ramos has confirmed that himself!
But where did he end up? he had the pick of the bunch and could of gone to many teams after what he did at sevilla. but where did he choose………..Just remember one thing…..you have sven as your manager cause Ramos said no thanks!!!!
NO TO LENNON YES TO BERGAMY I CANT BE BOTHERED PLAYING TODAY TOV THE LAZY GET CAN GO WE WILL HAVE JOE HEART OR SCHEMICHAEL AND JOHNSON AND STURRIGE AND 32 MILLION OF STOLEN CASH AND ANY WAY SHINASPLINTS MAY BE LOCKED UP WITH IS WIFLETS AND HIS MONEY WILL BE IN ICLAND FROZEN NEXT TO THE BEEF BURGERS HA HA HA THAT ABOUT HAS FUNNY HAS LENNON GOING TO CITY WITH BERBY
JimB - I’m responding to Spurs slating us for having 8,000 empty seats. As I say, support wise we are not far off in 8th best all time. Indeed, it’s questionable if we’d have 8,000 empty seats if we’d not been through 30 odd trophless years. Besides, this small stadium lark only holds water in recent times….back in the 80’s we both had stadiums of 40k plus but averaged below that.
Oh, and the giving it large - I don’t necessarily agree with what might blue is saying. But I think he’s stopped short of saying Spurs are shite and like fooking Birmingham….
In any case it’s a moot point. Berba won’t come to City for a number of reasons, it’s a joke paper article which has nothing to do with the club. Not any opportunity for Spurs to spout utter garbage about my club.
Hardy - drawing attention to 8,000 empty seats at Eastlands was only in response to Mighty Blue sneering at the fact that Spurs only have average crowds of 36,000 (forgetting, it seems, that White Hart Lane’s capacity is only 36,000).
Cartel, Dan and the various Yids (excluding 88, who seems to be sane) you are just showing yourselves up for the juvenile numpties you are.
And ‘Eric’ if you are a Blue (which I doubt) can I remind you that we didn’t start the slagging.
The original poster that kicked off this thread asked and attempted to answer the question “Why should Berbatov go to City”. He concluded, reasonably enough, that both City and Spurs were “at a similar stage of development” so why would a top class striker swap one work-in-progress club for another? Seems fair enough to me.
Instead of rational discussion it prompted a torrent of anti-City abuse from the self-deluded single figure IQ brigade that every club seems to carry around with them but of which Spurs, currently, have more than their quota.
I could go on and on quoting figures to prove which is or was the bigger club, but surely anyone with half a brain can see it’s pointless? Some years ago City fans had to dig deep to shed all the delusions and get a grip of reality. I’d recommend you do the same because we both have a lot to do before we can consider ourselves “big” whatever that means in today’s footballing context.
Can’t we just agree to attack the common enemy?
The Judaen people’s front?
I like Man City. A few years ago when you dropped a couple of divisions you still had great support, despite success. That is loyalty.
And I am a Spurs fan. I really don’t know why this argument is going on about big club this, big club that. Both clubs are on the up after some troubled times. Both have some key players they need to keep hold of to keep improving. I would say Spurs are slightly ahead as they have had a couple of good seasons prior to this one. But I would say that.
And I just wonder where all of the Eriksson knockers have gone. That man was treated badly. He had a decent record with England. Especially in comparison to McLaren.
Do us a favour and beat Arsenal twice a year…
Captain Dunkirk - you have a point, to an extent. Much of what followed the original article was unnecessary.
It’s a shame, however, that you are unable (or unwilling?) to acknowledge the equal part played by City’s “single figure IQ brigade” in the degeneration of the discussion.
yada, ill tell you why, i have never ever met a City fan thats come out & said City are bigger than Spurs, why?, because we couldnt care less about you, we only have 1 rival & thats M United. As for spurs fans lol, spurs fans are the people that started the “we are bigger than you brigade”.
U all keep blabbing about “Berb wont go to City” blah blah blah, have you not read anything i & other City fans have said, WE DONT WANT HIM AT CITY, he will leave you for a bigger team but it will not be us that takes him in, he aint good enough, 1 season wonder, we want an Henry, not a Berbey.
Cartel_only, U have it all wrong buttwipe, Ramos was 2nd on our list, Sven was not even on our list gimp, when he came calling in the papers that he would relish if Thaksin achieved so, then Sven became No1 & ramos was history.
Move on idiots
wtf players look for more money all the time if theres more money at city he will go full stop
I think MightyBlue is on a wind up.
JimB - Perhaps, but it was just a respnse to one of the many barbs around here.
Another moot point but, while were at it, we average 42K this season which I make to be about 4/5000 empty seats.
mighty blue
” berba the 1 season wonder” hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ……..second top goalscorer in Germany b4 he came to us, has been scoring in the prem ever since, has more assists than any other striker and is now accepted as one of the most sought after strikers in europe!!!!!!…….you deluded crackpipe smoking thick manc fucker !!!! LMFAO!!!! mind you, what is berba compared to the wealth of talent city have up front LOL
And whether City originally went after Ramos or Ranieri 1st, what we all no is they both said no thanks!!!!!…………MUGGY CUNT
p.s got any more “youth” players coming up with Elano??? LOL….F-O-O-L
You city fans crack me up.
1st of all, how can you name sven in the same league as ferguson, morinho and the paedophile. Sven is a two bob manager. He may have won things in italy but that was only with a wallet the size of house and a completely different style and tempo of football. i dont think he has the mind for it. As you could see when he was at england. He gets tactically raped by the big managers.
Secondly, we may have had a poor run in the league but this has now turned around. we have beaten arsenal, chelsea and had last minute equalisers scored against us by liverpool and man utd this season. we have a piece of silverware in our cabinet which is more we can say about you. (and before you give me the old ” its a pony cup talk”)
you silly northern coal mining car thieving work for peanuts twats would love that cup right now.
YOUR JUST A SHIT MAN UTD, SHIT MAN UTD
Mighty Blue - in response to your comment:
“U all keep blabbing about “Berb wont go to City” blah blah blah, have you not read anything i & other City fans have said, WE DONT WANT HIM AT CITY, he will leave you for a bigger team but it will not be us that takes him in, he aint good enough, 1 season wonder, we want an Henry, not a Berbey.”
What I can’t understand is why a bigger team than Spurs WOULD want him but you wouldn’t want him? Berbatov is quite clearly one of the best strikers in the World, let alone the Premiership, he would grace absolutely any team in Europe and if he did somehow end up at City then he would instantly be head and shoulders the best player there.
If Berbatov can be described as a one season wonder then I don’t know what you consider to be a consistent player…. He scored over 20 last season for Spurs, already has over 20 this season for them, scored over 20 in each of his three seasons before that at Leverkusen and also has over 30 goals in only 50 games for his country.
Some of his play is phenominal. He is completely two footed, great in the air, has some of the best ball control I’ve seen, can beat a player at will, has superb vision and ability to pick out a pass and is a great finisher. He can play as the out and out centre forward, the link player or up front on his own The fact that SAF would love to have him at Utd means that you are either completely clueless about football or are using the old classic of saying that you don’t want something simply because you know you can’t have it.
With the players and manager they now have at Spurs aligned with another sizeable transfer budget to spend this Summer I see no reason why Spurs cannot be challenging with Arsenal and Liverpool for third place next season, a back four of Hutton, Woodgate, King and Bale will be as good as any in the league and likewise for the pairing of Keane and Berbatov up front. I am sure that Ramos will bring in a new keeper and a couple of reinforcements in the midfield which should see Spurs really push on.
JimB 5-10 per cent of any team’s support is made up of total eejits. In this case yours started it, ours - along with a number of genuinely aggrieved ordinary fans - merely riposted.
Cartel and Mightyblue seem to have forgotten about the rest of us in their eagerness to wind each other up and Yiddo, I’m afraid, is just a saddo.
Should be ashamed of yourselves…..you know who you are, hiding behind your computers, throwing abusing around as if there aren’t enough serious issues in the world to worry about. I’m calling on the genuine fans to show up these small minded idiots……is it any wonder the country is fu*ked????
ash u sad cunt shup up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!………abit of cheeky football banter and u bring the state of the country into it?…….go away you dry boring shite!!!!!!!
and your right there is alot wrong with the world, but do we really need you to remind us of that on a football page?
hiding behind our computers!!
lol, you cracked me up with that.
this is just another issue im geting involved in while trying to solve all the worlds problems that you seem so concerned in ash.
I am in fact a genuine fan, im a season ticket holder south lower at spurs and have been for the past ten years. I buy the home and away kit every season and i travel away when ever work allows.
I cried when spurs won the carling cup. i love the team in fact.
Im just one of these supporters who hates people slagging off my club and will react when people do. im sorry but i just cant sit here and allow it.
I wasnt the one to in fact start it. from the looks above it was a young lady called AG and i think the worst started from mighty blue.
As for the country being f*cked i suggest a letter suggesting solutions to the prime minister may make you feel better. A bit of banter on a football website is not gonna effect these, i mean jesus.
have you been to some of the places in london. its like a 3rd world country. I can assure you that these people would not be on these web sites but more then likely mugging old ladies to supply their crack habit and to get their 30 brother and sisters into the country for a nice council house.
cartel_onlyo
Petrov went to City because the Spuds are Shite…. and he didnt want to live amongst sickly cockneys
Yiddo - Keep the comments coming….
‘He gets tactically raped by the big managers’ - What, like Mr. Ferguson against whom he has 100% record?
‘Sven is a two bob Manager’ - I suppose 19 trophies in 3 different countries doesn’t quite cut it against managing Barca reserves.
‘He may have won things in italy but that was only with a wallet the size of house’ - err, would this be like Mr. Murinho against whom Sven cannot be compared?
‘we may have had a poor run in the league but this has now turned around. we have beaten arsenal, chelsea and had last minute equalisers scored against us by liverpool and man utd this season’ - You’ve beaten none of the top four in the league, I hope your wonderful turnaround continues….
‘you silly northern coal mining car thieving work for peanuts twats would love that cup right now.’ - Inded, we’d love a trophy. Just like you’d love to have a house with more than two rooms…
Cartel! You muppet!!!
Sven is a real manager with years of experience at the top level in several different leagues around europe. He has the best contacts in global football out of all the premiership bosses and is respected as he respects.
The reason he has not one anything for 6 or 7 years is he was trying to get our shambles of a England team to a world cup or european cup final! Considering what he had to play with I think he did pretty good!
Now you tell me that Ramos would not lick Svens royal ass given half the chance!
Sven is everthing Ramos is trying to be and in time may achieve at least half of what Sven has acheived to date by the time he hangs up his wig!
“won anything” correction!
This really has turned into a proper slanging match. All I will say is wait until next season and may the best team win.
Only one point make to Mightyblue (i do think you have to be on a wind up) - how can you say your only rivals are Utd? That is like Spurs saying our only rivals are Arsenal.. That is silly given the gulf in trophies between Utd and City and Spurs and Arsenal. Spurs have local rivalry with Arsenal but that’s all - yours is the same. That comment marks you out as not credible I’m afraid.
How can Spurs and ManCity be on the same development curve . When did City last win a trophy or come in the top 6 . Spurs have been top 5 the last 2 years and a trophy this year . I like City their supporters are fantastic but they can not be thought of in the same class as Spurs - Berbatov would be mad to go there .
yiddo..if your so much better than city..why did we beat you last week..why are we above you in the league…answer please u southern tool…
so people are coal miners and work for peanuts in manchester..what a pri.k this yiddo is..typical spurs fans deluded..spent how much in the last 5 seasons to city and won a league cup…bet in the next 5 seasons we if spending large amounts like spurs have, wewill have won a trophy…and young players..you have bought all yours u idiots…we bring them through the academy…where are spurs in the fa youth cup again…knocked out first round..proving your youth team are crap…ours have romped the league again destroying united/liverpools teams 3-0 and 5-0 away..and will win the cup against chelsea….spurs a mid table team and still will be next season behind city who threw a team together in 2 weeks…big team my arse
Like that 1 about us being a shit man utd…we regularly beat united including home and away this season…when was the last time spurs done the double over arsenal..except beating their reserves in the cup .look up the last 5 years spending in the premier league..spurs are 5th biggest spenders yet are mid table this season…city havs spent relatively nothing compared to spurs yet are above them having beaten them last week..oh and the 1 about the 10 men in the cup quarter final…errr what about the 4-3 at your place with 10 men, when being 3-0 down….typically spurs fans comments…
I’m a city fan and some of the comments made by both sides are simply embarrasing.
In fairness although the spuds have spent big they have also had a decent player turn over, which I would like to add is about half their spendings. That is certainly something I admire as we are loaning out too many poor players that will never break into out team.
As for Berbatov, I wouldn’t want him on his own, I’d like the strike force. I don’t think anyone can argue that Keane/Berbatov is the PREMIER strike force in the PL, 100 goals in 2 years is nothing short of superb and with Petrov’s quality it would be an impressive trio. £50m on those 2? Yes please.
I also saw talk that we should go for Henry/Fabiano/Villa… I don’t care how much potential we have, they are european quality players so unless we finish 5th (6th does not qualify for europe this year, thanks spuds) we have the same thing to offer as a host of other clubs in the PL (Toon, AV, WHU etc), so we would have to hope they would join us simply on virtue. That sort of talk is sikply ridiculous.
City’s priority should be to develop the talent we already have and bring in experience for them to learn from, we are a work in progress and I do not expect that to change for a few seasons yet, we don’t want to rush into things and have a poor start as \spurs have done after 2 successful seasons, I want consistency over a 38 game season and actually proove that we deserve our place as the likes of Everton have done this term.
City Chief - you speak sense. Many comments are embarrassing.
Don’t make me laugh!! Berba to city ha ha he may as well go to Birmingham city for all the success he ll get at wastelands!! Wasn’t this the season city were gonna win the league, then get champs league, then the lowly wafer cup?? It looks like intertoto is even out of their league!! Cheer up Sven you and Wigan can battle it out for the fair play league!!!!
Berba loves the spurs!! As for dennis if you can point out what was wrong with bents goal please explain!! We were suffering from carling cup winners and UEFA cup hangover how you can only dream of knowing how that feels!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you tool…..!!!!…..sven last won anything with lazio 8 years ago……and the reason why he done well at lazio is very simple…..he was handed a massive 274 million sterling over just 4 seasons by sergio cragnotti……bear in mind the prices of players 8 years ago, and what sort of team he could of got!!!!……i mean ffs, who couldnt be a success under those circumstances…..now fast foward to sevilla and Ramos……sevilla had not won anything in 50 years prior to his arrival. but 2 seasons later they had won 5 trophies including back to back UEFA cups. but with won big difference to sven….NO RICH OWNER, NO OPEN CHEQUE BOOK!!!!…..he then took sevilla into the champs league, and almost done the impossible by winning the la liga title, but was beaten to it with 2 games to go….since ramos have left, sevilla have crashed…..now onto the prem. 1 trophy already won, and a demonstration of what a good tactical manager can do to change games. i have yet to see sven really demonstrate very good tactics with his subs and team shape / formation change if needs be, halfway into a game. so good luck under sven………we will keep Ramos and follow in the footsteps of sevilla while he was in charge.
tbh talk of Man City beating Spurs in the last game being used as reasoning for City being “better” is madness. So, we drew 4-4 with Chelsea so we are as good as them? The fact is Man City have beaten Spurs once in the last eight games with the other 7 ending in wins for Spurs but all of that means nothing. Trophies and top 5 matters - that’s it.
I cant believe there are mancs on here?
have they got computers up north?
Or are you all secret man utd fans sticking up for ur poorer cousins?
Dont worry city fans im sure with your current form we will still finish above you. If not ill let the mighty spurs off, after all they are all dreaming of europe AGAIN next season.
Also we may have spent big but its not really when you see our profits and turnovers. All balances its self up lovely to be honest.
again i think europe helps with that along with a bit of silverware.
remind me again precisely how are city gonna attract these so called world class players when what silverware can they boast? They’re not in europe again and can’t even manage to attract a full crowd, come on wake up next season ll be another fighting relagation as always!!!!
Cartel you tube! The gung ho approach favoured by Ramos is good fun but you will soon get board of drawing games 4 - 4 etc…
The more sophysticated approach employed by Sven has far more long term value over the course of a season and when it finally clicks into place after we have all the right players to play the system you will also see far more goals as well as being tight at the back!
Ramos is a cup winner true but his approach will not win you the premiership thats for sure!

not winning the prem, but winning cups, isnt the worst situation in the world, unlike city who win neither.
bojog
“the more sophisticated approach employed by sven” hahahaha LOL
“you’ll soon get bored of drawing games 4-4″……….i take it you are refering to the recent spurs vs chelsea game?…………well id prefer 4-4 against chelsea than a 6-0 loss !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!……….where was svens “sophisticated approach” then LOL
I think now city have got the new owner they are lot higher in the rich list
They have done well this season up until the win at man utd
I wonder how much they going to spend next season?
I just wish Everton had that kind of money think of were we would be if we did
