Real Madrid offer Liverpool the perfect player in Xabi swap deal.
March 26, 2008
It looks like Spanish superstars Real Madrid are having a hearty sniff around Liverpool’s Xabi Alonso and are offering a player in exchange that couldn’t be more perfect for the Merseysiders if his name was Ian McShankly-Kop. Yep, everybodies favourite player guzzling Castilian monarchs, Real Madrid, are set to wart £8million under the flared nostrils of Liverpool and in a surefire deal clincher are going to throw in midfielder Ruben de la Red as well.
This is a player plus cash deal that is sure to get Rafa’s juices going, as he tried to pry de la Red away from Madrid last summer, but the Spaniards instead opted to flog him to Getafe for £2million with the whopping caveat that they could nab him back this summer for £3.5million. Such are the mendacious and tangled webs that Real weave that they will grab de la Red back from Getafe and then proceed to use him as bait in the Alonso deal.
The Sun, desperate to get the word on the street, interviewed an ‘insider’, and this is what he said:
“It is a case of the club deciding whether to keep De La Red or to try and get Alonso. The Liverpool player is the one they have wanted to sign for a long time.”
De la Red may be a great young midfielder and all that jazz, but all we care about is the prospect of someone playing in a Liverpool shirt with the name “Red” on the back - glorious!

Got something to say?

Red in spanish means net - he is Ruben of the Net
if he isnt good enuff to stay at real why would liverpool want him another nunez id guess.
dont do it rafa
actually do it rafa but dont use alonso keep him or hold out for 15mil, just by del la red seperatly
in rafa we trust
Liverpool have been linked with De la Red in the past (maybe it’s just his name but anyway) he’s definitely one Rafa has had watched in the past. As for Alonso, it’s clear he’s unsettled at Anfield and definitely had a fall-out with Benitez earlier in the season when he questioned his form. I would be surprised if he let Alonso leave still and, with only Lucas really below him in the pecking order, a replacement would be needed.
Does Rafa fall out with his players? If so, that is a problem. Don’t you think it is just more media crap? I think Alonso is perfectly happy at Liverpool - that’s what he has said - if you can believe those reports. Even Crouch doesn’t seem to have had a fall out with Rafa - even though he doesn’t play him enough. You can’t believe every piece of sheisse in the papers.
How come you Scousers are quoting the Sun newspaper. I thought you lot didn’t read that rag for whatever reason. Shame on you if you clicked on the link.
It’s Ned’s article quoting the Sun you thick mong. Ned is a blueshite
FOOOOOOOOOOOK ARRRRRRFFFFFFFFF thecat YOUUUUUUU CUUUUUUNT
the cat shut your mouth or the dog is guna catch your scrawny little ass and give u 2 my local chinese takeaway
two things
#1 alonso is a die hard basque he has already publically stated he’ll NEVER play for madrid
#2 see #1.
If he moves, barcelona is the more likely destination.
Ned the Sun reader - makes total sense.
Alonso is a poor player and its because of him that ronaldo scored on sunday. He was with ronaldo during the corner. Rafa should include DIARRA in the deal and get rid of both Rise and Alonso. Poor players!!!!lLiverpool must deinitely get rid of these if liverpool want premiship!!!!!!!!! Why not give kuyt freely to real on top of that! That would be the deal of the century!!!!!!!!!!
pls lev him and go 4 quaresmar of porto fc
GREAT OFFER.. with Mascherano probably above alonso right now it would be good for him to leave. and bringing in somoene young with the name de la RED… liverpool should get this player 2 wingers and 2 strikers uur defence is FINE…
De la red is a cultured midfielder in the mould of Cesc Fabregas, albeit less spectaculer, and would easily slot into the LFC engine room.I would much rather
have him as an addition to the squard if Lucas doesn’t adapt to the EPL.
