Spurs fans must be delighted with the way that the season has turned out. Although there was no shortage of goals and entertainment under Martin Jol, his replacement Juande Ramos has provided Tottenham with a steely edge, enabling them to move away from the foot of the Premier League and win the Carling Cup.
However, if you thought the excitement was over for the season, you’d be wrong. Gus Poyet has been busy explaining to the official Spurs website that the North London club are going all out to try and win every match this season, at whatever the cost.
“We have seven games to go and we have to just try and be consistent and to try to win them all, even when we are away from home.,” stated Gus.
“I don’t think we are in a position where we need to be holding out for a result like a 0-0 or something like that.
“I would say 99% we are going to go for the games especially where we are in the table.
“There is nothing to lose really. You have to go and try and win games in order to add points to the table and it worked against Portsmouth. Juande was trying to open the game up, it was too close, too difficult, not many chances. We risked it.
“We have to try to win every game now. Like I said before we have no problems in the table – nothing to lose – so just go and try to prove we can win.”
Can we expect some more humdingers such as the 4-4 with Chelsea and Aston Villa, the 3-3 with Fulham and the 6-4 against Reading? With Newcastle’s generous defence in town on Sunday, it could be fill your boots time for the Tottenham strikers!
