Newcastle gave Spurs a hiding yesterday that’s for sure. Everything they aimed in Paul Robinson’s direction ended up either in the back of the net or very near it. However they could probably still do with another striker in their locker, especially given Michael Owen’s fragile state and Mark Viduka’s advancing years! Spurs on the other hand clearly have problems at the back and not at the front, so quite why Ramos is even contemplating a move to this guy is beyond me
Newcastle and Spurs are closing in on Seville’s unsettled Brazil striker Luis Fabiano, 27, who is rated at £8m. (News of the World)
Sure he’s the top scorer in La Liga, sure he’s scoring at more than a goal a game in one of the toughest leagues in the world, sure he’s made it back into the Brazilian national team (where am I going with this?). However my gut feeling is that he is not worth taking a risk on, his wages will be sky high apparently and has a ‘bad boy’ attitude. Also players from Brazil hardly ever make it in the UK. I think Kevin Keegan would be able to use his chairman’s money more wisely.
