In an attempt to scare off vultures circling Bulgarian ace Dimitar Berbatov Spurs have put a large price tag on the striker, but will it be enough to keep them at bay?
Some of Europe’s top clubs are chasing £40m-rated Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov. (Sunday Mirror) Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and AC Milan are all said to be after the talented 27 year old and Liverpool could also be interested in a strike partner for Fernando Torres
Surely if Spurs wanted to scare off suitors they should have just said he isn’t for sale. On the face of it the price tag is not outrageous for such a fantastic striker at the peak of his game. Can you imagine a Torres-Berbatov partnership! Anyway it’s probably all mindless speculation but surely Spurs would rather have Berbs come out and say “I am going nowhere” in much the same way as Cesc Fabregas has done repeatedly.
