Fresh from the rumours about Jermaine Jenas’s housing exploits, it seems speculation has been poured on top of hearsay and created a fresh story linking him with a move to Manchester City. It’s a bit of gossip that may or may not be based in truth.
Manchester City have been linked with a £14m move for Jermaine Jenas. Sven-Goran Eriksson is said to be a fan of the midfielder, and selected him as part of his World Cup squad in 2006. (various)
Well, as I said in a previous post, I don’t think Juande Ramos is earmarking JJ as a player he wants to remove from his plans. Supposedly Jermaine is wanting to leave the capital and sees Man City as a side who could challenge for a top-four spot but I feel that under the Spaniard the White Hart Lane outfit are in as good a position as City to break the top four monopoly, so I don’t see any sense in the move.
That isn’t to say that Sven hasn’t done a great job. He has, but I think that overall Spurs may have the edge.
