Villa to Arsenal?
April 16, 2008
Valencia striker David Villa has come out and stated his intention to join Arsenal.
He said to The Sun: “I watch the Premier League a lot and the team I’m most attracted to is definitely Arsenal. Their brilliant one and two-touch football and the whole style of rapid counter-attack which dominates the top level of the Premier League now is the one which suits my game best of all.
“I think I’m made to succeed in England but of course it’s one thing saying it and quite another getting there and then doing it.
“The Valencia president (Agustin Morera) always told me he wouldn’t sell me until summer 2008. If an offer comes in I’m hungry to test myself in England.”
Is Villa on his way? Do Arsenal need him? Is he a reliable replacement for the injured Eduardo? Questions that need to be answered…by you!

Got something to say?

Is Villa on his way?
No! Arsene will never spend 20 odd million on him. He thinks he already has enough resources in eduardo, rvp, ade, bendtner and walcott. It will go against his principles of putting a super star ahead of the developing youngsters.
Do Arsenal need him?
YES! with the chances arsenal creates they need a reliable striker to take atleast 75% of the chances presented. Torres would have 40 goals by now!
Is he a reliable replacement for the injured Eduardo?
YES! he has done it in the spanish league as apposed to eduardo’s record in the croatian league.
Arsenal def need an out and out striker that can put away 25 goals a season. Thierry did the job for the last 5 years but I can’t see Ade developing into the next Van Nistlerooy although he does give us an alternative style of play. I respect Wenger’s youth policy but with all the big spending we are being left behind. We need proven experience to bring the youth players through and Villa is def the finished article! Him, Fabregas, RVP and Hleb (if he stays) would be immense!
Should buy, if get him must also get alam shah
Villa is the world class finished article. I’ve watched David for three years now as a keen follower of la liga and believe his style of play would definatly suit Arsenal FC. He at Valencia is twice as good as Torres was at At. Madrid. With that in mind i believe Villa could come to Arsenal and play at the top level getting results straight away. Also Villa can take a mean free kick, this would help Fabregas doesn’t score freekicks often, ever?!
Would be superb, and I think Wenger may go for him.
Arsenal definetly need someone like Villa, what happens if adebayor goes through a premier league drought again who can go and bang the goals in VILLA! definetly needed
Villa would be superb and would provide some options in rotation, which we needed badly this year. There is no guarantee that Eduardo will be as good as he was with a leg break.
Will Wenger go for him? Not a chance….
I think Wenger should really spend the money on him he is quality! Adebayor is not really a reliable striker he needs to SHOOT! Van Persie WHEN fit is a great striker but we know about his problems,Bendtner abd Walcott still very young and when Eduardo returns which we don’t know when it will take him a very long time to be fit again and it’s a mental thing as well. So I think Wenger should definitely spend this time!
buy him now better than torres and a great finisher him edwardo ,adebeyour how many goals will we score next season if we do from them a couple of defenders and wed walk it no excuses wenger get your checkbook out if he was the only 1 we signed im sure wed be just as happy with that
Paul walsh is that you? Is that THE Paul Walsh, the little thief from Charlton?
wenger should definately go 4 him, especially seeing is how he’s a world class player who WANTS to come to Arsenal. This kind of signing would also be great for luring other players as it would show we’re trying to improve rather than just hoping the current crop benefit from one more year of experience. If we do get villa then i feel we could think about selling bendtner. If wenger doesn’t go for him i will be devastated
