The Premier League and Champions League double is in range for Manchester United; in fact, they’re strong favourites with the bookmakers to win both competitions. Whether or not they add both pieces of silverware to an already gleaming trophy cabinet, The Guardian reports that Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to add to his squad of talented individuals in the summer.
“We have a good policy of renewing contracts at the right time,” he said. “It gives us continuity and a chance of keeping the squad together. It is not easy to do but we do our best at it. We have a strong squad now and adding a couple more players in the summer is a possibility.”
Who do you think Manchester United should sign in the summer? They seem to be OK in central midfield, with the likes of Carrick, Hargreaves, Anderson and Scholes fighting for places. Defensively, they’ve also been sound this season, while Cristiano Ronaldo has made what you might describe as a reasonable contribution. Will Fergie look to acquire a 20+ goals a season striker, especially with Saha continuing to be plagued by injury?
