It appears that Newcastle’s rejuvenation is making them a healthier prospect when it comes to bidding for world class talents. Now it seems that Liverpool target Luka Modric may be having his head turned towards a move to the north-east.
Newcastle are reportedly very close to purchasing highly-rated Croatia midfielder Luka Modric from Dinamo Zagreb for around £15m. (Various) The long term Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs target could decide to opt for a move to join Kevin Keegan’s fast improving side.
As said before, I rate Modric highly, and feel he could be a big star in the Premier League, whoever wins the race may find Luka the kind of player to build a team around, but who will clinch the deal? Do Liverpool fans feel that the 22 year old is more likely to be attracted to a move to Anfield? Or do Geordie fans feel that their side, with King Kev in the hot seat, has a lot to offer the goalscoring midfielder?
