Liverpool to cash in on sacking by bidding for £12m man: Would be a great signing!
by Mr Comfort on April 29th, 2008Manchester City it seems have somewhat unwisely sacked their manager, obviously their fans didn’t want this to happen but for some reason Thaksin felt that what could still be City’s best season since 1992 is somehow not good enough, now it has possibly left the door open for their top talent to exit from.
Manchester City are determined not to be held to ransom in contract talks with Michael Johnson, who is a 12m target for Liverpool. (Daily Mail)
You have got to feel sorry for Man City fans, Sven started the season with a bang and even though recent months have been lean they still stand in ninth place and mathematically they could even finish as high as sixth. However for some reason their Thai chairman decided enough was enough, and surely this must worry Blues fans in terms of where it leaves there top players who will surely now be angered by the decision to sack the Swede as they wait nervously to see who replaces him. Liverpool could be the big winners here because Michael Johnson is an England star of the future who may well feel that this could be his cue to leave. How do City fans feel about Thaksin’s decision to swing the axe? And do Liverpool fans rate Johnson highly?

I’m not a Man City fan, but this was indeed a stupid decision. I would not be surprised if their key players decided to move on and get away from this madness.

The guy should run a Thai brothel not a football club. Such a bad combination of ignorance and arrogance. Can there be any doubt now about his human rights record? If this is the way he tries to run a football club, just imagine how he run a tin pot country in the Far East. No wonder they wanted to get rid of him. Well let’s hope he get’s put in jail and isn’t seen in Manchester ever again.

Absolutely bloody ridiculas. For once we have gone through a season where, because of the way we have played and the attitude and deportment of both players and management, our fans other fans and even pundits like Andy Grey are begining to give ius the repect we have longly deserved.
If Frank thinks that Rome was built in a day then he needs to look at how long the Great Wall of China is! As that very famous oriental figurehead Confusus says…. the longest journey starts with a single step!. I think Dr Shinwatera should rethink and reflect on the success that might come our way with a team that has grown together and become stable under a very calm manager. I am in absolutely gobsmacked by this dicision and can only think that he has Jose Morinio waiting in the background. If thats the case then Taksin had better get his wallet out again because he can spend money better than Sven. I want the money back for my season ticket or better still give the bloody thing away as I dont think I will be going much next season and I would urge other supporter to protest in a similar manner.
Absolutly fuming…….. Preston

Yeah good player, dont know bout 12mill though, thats money that we need to spend elsewhere.
Shocking decision too, who’d have thought at the start of the season sven would be getting this kind of reaction and respect in england!!!

will ruin his career. at this age he needs to be playing regularly in order to develop and keep improving. Going to pool and sitting the bench behind gerrard, masch, xavi, and lucas will ruin him. why are players so stupid? is it just their agents pushing them that way for the cash? i include gareth barry in this as well.

tin pot country? this coming from the worlds biggest abusers of human rights? thats right, im talking about you, loser. you are a product of an empire that has massacred and molded the world to fit in with your skin type. now you make such brazenly stupid statements. this is no longer about football. its about bastards like you.

City fans are unbelievable! To arrange Protests against the sacking of an overpaid failure and comments against Frank are beyond belief. In the last 5 months City have won 6 out of 25 League and cup games. Carry that over into next season and they would be relegated. Not being relegated is success to 80 per cent of city fans.

i dont care what’s Rafa goin to buy..As long he have a right choices that HELP liverpool to the road of VICTORY..buy NASRI,PATO,ALVES and DAVID VILLA!!!!!!!!!!!
Alex - May 3rd, 2008 at 11:14 am
matL your comments are such a waste of everyones time. I have read your same comment on about 5 articles, why are you wasting your time? Your just naming people who are already establised. DO u honestly think Pato will leave? or Alves will sign for us? Nasri or Villa maybe but highly doubtful!
If you dont know anything, dont say anything.
English talent for the pool this year! Johnson, Richards, Bentley and Barry!
C’mon boys!
Alex - May 3rd, 2008 at 11:19 am
and b4 any of u say the english players will cost too much:
Johnson - 12m
Bentley - 14m
Richards - 16m (has a 16m buy out clause and is unhappy with sven leaving, would solve full back issues)
Barry - Only if Alonso leaves.
If Alonso stays, we wont need barry, so the three brits will cost 42m.
Players to sell:
Benayoun - 6m
Riise - 6m
Kuyt - 8m
Carson - 7m
Kewell -3m
Finnan + Hyypia - 5m
Voronin - 2m
If you add those figures up, before any investment we would get about 35/37m (best case scenario). That means for the brits we would only need an additional 5m of investment! fuck all!
Then if we get money from DIC (which we bloody well should) we could splash out on someone foreign maybe like Podolski or Silva.
