Tottenham man nears long awaited exit: Good luck to him!

May 6, 2008

One Spurs player who was always more than likely to leave come the end of the season was on loan keeper Radek Cerny, and now offers have come in for him but surely he could have secured a Premier League contract?

Tottenham keeper Radek Cerny claims QPR have offered him a contract. (Daily Mirror)

During his time at White Hart Lane I think the 34 year old Czech did okay and was unlucky to not get more of a chance in the face of the blundering that Robbo was subjecting the fans to. He has done well over the course of the last five games and whilst he was never going to make a big name for himself in north London I think he has done a workmanlike job for the club. Will Spurs fans be wishing the keeper well for the future?

Definitely. What a professional and respectable player, Not old in terms of goalkeeping and I wish him the best possible future.

he’s a very good player, i’d like to see him stay as an understudy at spurs- he could do better than QPR.

also i’d like to see robbo stay, hes still quality he just lost confidence with 2 central defenders who were to young to be a partnership infront of him; give him another season and he’ll be englands no1 again.

I have always thought that Cerny was a better keeper than Robinson. Just because the standard of keeping in the England team is so poor, meant that Robinson was Englands No1. I remember when England had Shilton, Clemence and Corrigan to pick from as Englands Top 3, they could catch the ball and command their back four , something i think is totally lacking in the game today. What have we go today?????? Which brings me back to Cerny….he could catch a ball…..Robbo could catch the odd one!

Give Robbo a chance. With a more steady back 4 who knows what would have happened and just maybe Robbo would not have lost his confidence. REMEMBER, he was and still could be Englands No.1….. as for Cerny, he has done well for us when called upon most of the time. Never heard him moaning because of lack of 1st team footie. You say he could do better than QPR, but with the money they now have behind them I would not be supprised to see them in the EPL very soon! He also is guaranteed 1st team football each week, at his age that is all he wants, I’m sure…..GOOD LUCK to him and COYS for next season!

I heard we were in talks with Jens Lehmann about a move to white heart lane and that a deal has nearly been struck, something in the region of £70,000 a week, i also heard that we spoke to Anton Ferdinand, but he seems to think hes better off at West Ham because they have better fans, more ambition and they are going finish above spuds this season.
