It’s a bit like Wife Swap except the players stay with their new family for potentially a number of seasons rather than a week. It’s commonly known that Paul Robinson is expected to leave White Hart Lane in the summer after a very average season between the sticks for Spurs. However, the Daily Mail report that Juande Ramos is keen to replace him City’s Joe Hart, who many are touting as a future England goalkeeper.

Tottenham are lining up a £10million deal for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart — with Paul Robinson going in the opposite direction.

Spurs manager Juande Ramos sees Hart, who was called up to Fabio Capello’s England squad this week, as the best-value prospect in the country and wants him to form the foundation to Tottenham’s attempt to break into the top four next season.

Quite whether City will be prepared to allow one of their brightest talents to leave the club remains to be seen, especially with the loveable Thaksin Shinawatra wanting to take over the world his club to be challenging the ‘Big Four’ themselves next term, despite sacking a manager who has every chance of doing this. It’s also questionable whether they would want a goalkeeper who’s experienced a tremendous fall from grace since arriving at White Hart Lane and grabbing the England number one’s jersey with both hands.

And never mind a top four finish Juande, a top-half finish would be a start and an improvement on just three away wins in the league all season!
