£5 million starlet trying to ignore Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United tug-of-war
by stresster on May 27th, 2008But will one of the ‘Big Four’ make an offer that Cardiff City just can’t refuse? It’s clear that Aaron Ramsey is a star in the making, with the 17-year-old having already featured in an FA Cup final during his short career to date. However, despite potential overtures from Old Trafford, Anfield and The Emirates, the midfielder has told BBC that he’s happy to stay put for the time being.
“I don’t take much notice to be honest, I just ignore the speculation.
“I will do what I want to at the end of the day, but I am happy at Cardiff.”
The Welshman will be looking to avoid the path of Theo Walcott, who has only had limited first-team opportunities with Arsenal since signing from Southampton. There is the possibility that he will be snapped up in the summer, only to be loaned back out to a Championship club, even Cardiff. However, it seems as though there’s a wise head on those young shoulders.

Hes only 17 so why are we getting so excited about him….give it a few years yet and then compare him but he not a Wayne Rooney.Liverpool need proven players and NOW not some 17 year old…just look at Theo.

Yes, just look at Theo, playing fantastically, spent a year learning off the then best striker in the world, and it shows!

I don’t believe it, a Caught Offside transfer rumour that doesn’t include a “tug of war” between Arsenal and Spurs… amazing!
Are you sure you don’t want to edit the title just a little?
Vaisey - May 27th, 2008 at 11:56 am
i’m a season ticket holder at cardiff and i’m a liverpool fan im telling you this kid is worth triple the money he has the potential to be the next gerrard and with gerrard helping him at liverpool it would be well worth it
go on rafa

Ramsey would be worth buying now… he has the potential to be a great player.
Buy him now… although only 17 but loan him out to gain more experience. The player can only improve for it and one day might make the LFC first XI
But only a player for the future maybe… and now they need to concentrate on getting proven players for the start of next season.
The likes of Bentley, Barry and a left winger… not sure on Riera but may prove me wrong.

what does he play? Or what kind of player does he play like? Is he a quick footed winger a la Theo, or someone up there mentioned Gerrard so does he play in the CM? Just curious….
ANON - May 27th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
similar to gerrard in that he can play central, wide and attacking midfield…. don’t think he knows himself yet

I want sell ronaldo to get alot more money and buy other players that are just as good
RayParlourforPresident - May 30th, 2008 at 8:56 am
apparently we have had an offer turned down on him already,
where would Liverpool put him though? it isn’t as if you have a shortage of midfield players and I can’t see him playing alongside Gerrard purely because you would have to drop either mascherano, Babbel, Lucas, Alonso (unless he goes), you are already spoilt for choice in that area.
don’t you think you should let us have him, we do after all have a huge gap in our midfield left vacant by Flamini and he would arguably get just as much support and experience playing next to Fabregas!!!!
having that many quality midfielders is just greedy….
dogmanstar - May 30th, 2008 at 9:29 am
why would he ever choose to go to arsenal given their record at giving fuck all chance to anyone that speaks english?
RayParlourforPresident - May 30th, 2008 at 10:28 am
Theo Walcott, Sol Campbell, Ashley Cole, Tony Adams, Ray Parlour, Ian Wright,
Mark Randall, Justin Hoyte, do I need to go on?
plus the fact most of our African contingent speak English as a first language.
I think dogmanstar’s comment is a little bit pot calling the Kettle Black.
you are hardly England United after all are you, Carragher and Gerrard being the only English regular 1st team players….
just because David Bentley said he didn’t get a chance because he is English doesn’t make it accurate, he didn’t get a chance because he is shite and then he played the race card.
