Tottenham striker is staying at White Hart Lane!
by stresster on May 29th, 2008Just a shame for Spurs fans that it’s not Dimitar Berbatov, although it must still be great news to hear that Robbie Keane has pinned his colours firmly to the Tottenham mast. The striker had a very strong season for the North London club and the Daily Telegraph reports that the Irishman is loving life at White Hart Lane and is a firm part of Juande Ramos’ plans for next season.
“I’m very content with my life and my time at Spurs.
“I want to play there as long as I’m happy and as long as I’m wanted.
“Over the last three of four years there has always been speculation that I’m going here, there and everywhere.
He said: “I’m having a summer off without people ringing saying ‘Are you going here, are you going there?’
“So I’m looking forward to a nice break and then going back to Spurs next season.”
It remains to be seen who Keano’s strike partner will be next season, although it’s all gone quiet on the Berbatov transfer front, despite the Bulgarian’s agent giving Hleb’s counterpart a run for his money in the flirtation stakes. Tottenham fans, who do you want to see partnering Keane next season?

Berba - that would be the best transfer news of the summer, if he signs a new 4 or 5 year deal…
I hoping when I switch on sky sports news on - it flashes at the botton ‘Berba signs new contract extention at the lane’

Bar Steward.

Berbatov with a positive attitude - but let’s face it, it isn’t going to happen.
Stu Irvine - May 29th, 2008 at 1:55 pm
It will be Berbatov… Unless there is a big merry go round of strikers caused by Barca, Chelski etc. I think that the top clubs are wary because of his inconsistency.
Once we pick up Capel, Dos Santos, Gattuso etc, he will be more than happy to stay (along with a big pay increase).
George Norton - May 29th, 2008 at 2:06 pm
A player who wants to be at the club would be nice, if Berba had any love of the fan’s who chant his name week in and week out he would sack that blood sucking agent and let us and the club know what his intentions are. Other than that Dos Santos would be the one, have you seen his clips on Youtube.

robbie keane is just as valuable an asset as berbatov overall….i would love him to stay though….if we end up with dos santos, modric, capel, gattusso, i cant see a better midfield in the country….
Gerald - May 29th, 2008 at 2:27 pm
Easy answer: Berba
Joel - May 29th, 2008 at 2:55 pm
i would love to see berba staying at the lane and for some reason have convinced myself it may happen. If he were to leave i would love to think we could attract someone like Huntelaar who is simplya clinical finisher. I am loving Trapatonni’s new use for Keano and think it may help tottenham.

Keane
Berba Huntelaar
Nuffsaid

Keane and Berba !
IF Berba leaves Huntelaar would be a good replacement…
Koofax - May 29th, 2008 at 3:19 pm
for a spud, George Norton talks a lot of sense. On the other hand, I hope Stu Irvine was being ironic.
Guy Stroulger - May 29th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
Keano’s future was never in doubt anyway! People say he was linked with moves away but to where????
leigh - May 29th, 2008 at 3:38 pm
torres is leavin liverpool to cum 2 spurs cus he doesnt like rafa benitez so him and keano
fabienfogg - May 29th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
I think it was quite obvious that Robbie Keane was going to stay with us as noone was interested in him and he loves the club and we love him. I thought this would be about Berbatov and in my opinion it were be really annoying if he stayed.
It would limit our transfer budget, leave us with a lazy, sullen striker, and just pass on the rumors for another season. Lets get rid of him, get some money and look to the future
BM - May 29th, 2008 at 4:45 pm
I would prefer Bent up front with Keane, at least he remains professonal, if Berba is going to have the same shitty attitude as last season, cash him in and bring Pekart into the mix.
johnny g - May 29th, 2008 at 5:22 pm
id want big bird from sesamee street, heard he is very usefull in the air!!!
PHILO - May 29th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
keane was always going to stay, I would really love to see berbatov on his way, so we can build a ‘team’, and oust the shambolic circus that surronds this sulking fool. Bring in players who work hard and are professional for the team, not just themselves. Berbatov for me will not be missed
Veners - May 29th, 2008 at 6:09 pm
I hate to say it but I would rather Berba leave now, it can’t be good for the club having a player who doesn’t want to play for you.
D Milito would be an ideal replacement.
Also when we are linked with players like Moreno, I can’t help but think……isn’t Defoe a better player, and he went for around £7M!!
james - May 29th, 2008 at 6:10 pm
berbs too lazy, we need someone whos not gonna cry if he doesnt get the ball to his feet, i say stick with bent and keane up front….
rash - May 29th, 2008 at 6:46 pm
bring back lee barnard give him another chance - he looked good
probably score more than bent and only cost 16 quid lol

No, he is a star in a team that plays like shit, all the giants are after him, why? Because he is a superstar who shouldn’t be 11th in the premiership.
With him gone Keane will look average, hopefully they’ll give Bent the chance he deserves.
neil - May 29th, 2008 at 10:45 pm
get aguero from athletico
he looks sheer class
michael keane - May 30th, 2008 at 7:20 am
It will be Huntelaar
Chris - May 30th, 2008 at 7:46 am
Cant see either of them happening, but if he does go….
Huntelaar or Ibrahimovic would be fantastic.
And then I wake up and realise that we are a midtable non champions leagues
playing club who neither of these guys would be interested in!!!
Anonymous - May 30th, 2008 at 9:31 am
Its got to be Berbatov
Bilal - May 30th, 2008 at 11:33 am

Adam - May 30th, 2008 at 12:51 pm

Andreas - May 31st, 2008 at 9:41 am
x2 on Ibrahimovic, possibly the best european striker around, but thats just a dream, It´s either Spain or remain in Italy for him
